Do you play for the money or for fun ?

I started playing online, in the hope of making a little money. Haven’t yet, but been having fun trying.
Still learning, and my bankrolls are lasting longer and longer the more I learn.

I was thinking I play for fun and love the challenge of trying to improve (I really like the little whizz gadget at partyPoker for instance) and sometime setting myself little challenges, or aiming for increasing goals, etc. But, of course, it's nice to earn enough to work from my poker balance and not have to deposit, so some wins/money is good too.

But when I read this replay I couldn't help but identify and recognised it as so true for me too!!!!

Make some money from freerolls and then use that to play in buy-in tournaments.

With the 888poker change to seat freerolls that part has become a bit more difficult.

For fun of course. Otherwise you'd have seen me on TV already right? That being said, yeah, who wouldn't love to go on a month (or longer) roll/heater where you can't seem to lose and build up a roll large enough to play for real "pro" stakes? I just don't ever count on that being the case and am having enough fun risking $20-$40 in a day at this point.

I usually make a little bit each day and don't usually dip very much and still like playing the freerolls to see how i stack up on the leaderboard too! Being a USA player, it's been fun this last year building up a roll from nothing but freerolls to the point i'm at as well. I keep waiting for PS to get back into the USA game and let me play the $400+ i still have on there too. Optimistic i know...

Of course I like the game and it's very nice when you beat all the other players and win a tournament, but if there wasn't any chance of winning money, I wouldn't play almost everyday like I do. Maybe I would only play 1x week in my free time.
