Hi, guys. I started gambling quite recently, a few months ago. Probably now it's my hobby if you can say so. My more experienced friends advised me to start with an online casino https://casinodeps.co.nz/safe-casinos/. That's where I won my first $ 20 almost immediately. I knew I should have stopped right away, but I took a chance and won another $ 50. This is my biggest win at the casino so far. Up to the level of my salary of course does not reach, it is always nice when luck is on your side and you get extra money not from the main job.

If I earned the same amount in poker as I did at work, why go to work?

My poker winnings absolutely reflect whats going on. I was involved in a head on collision in Jan of 2019. Since then i've made maybe $3,000 starting from freerolls. Nice to have something fun to help me buy Dominos :)

What i've earned in my first month amount to 28.79 percent of my salary, 2nd month was 31.6 and now 6 days in my 3rd month I'm at 11.60 percent. Overall in 66 days i've made 71.99 percent of my salary. Playing mostly 5NL cash games. Averaging about 65 or 75 hands per day, not that much cause I'm working all the time.

I wish, for now it's just fun, maybe some day...

May BE! Focus on studying the game as much as you can. Learn from the pros. The most important wisdom I think is to have good bank roll management. Its a game of numbers.

God speed and good luck at the tables my friend.

Oh sure. But. Hampered by a lack of time from work. And I don't want to quit my main job and go into poker yet.

The best I have done over a year is about 50% of my salary (at that time) and not even 10% came from online. Now with the current salary I have and the limited live play I get to do, I am sitting at maybe 5% of my salary. If I could have a steady 1-2 days a week live with a nice large varied group of players, I should be able to get it to about 15-20% here in Japan. Adding in any trips to casinos in SG, VN, PH then I can get it to be much higher overall as in the last few years I had a few decent wins in each. A friend of mine who goes regularly to Manila is making about 80-100% of his salary playing poker after accounting for the cost of flights, food, and hotels whereas I have a couple friends in the US who only play poker in local card rooms making it work.

I believe that it all comes down to the dedication to the sport and how much effort put into the play. I look forward to being able to enjoy my nice vacations using the poker money while I have my salary for everything else.

Poker

For frequent winnings, they do not reach the salary level, but it is always nice when your luck in poker does not pass by)

I have been playing poker for a very long time but it was just a hobby, now I just decided to raise my level of playing poker and started to study the game in more detail. So I hope that in six months I will write here that I earn more than my salary))) Good luck at the tables!

Funny

You know what's funny about this post.... I feel like, had I'd been introduced to poker through live play instead of online I feel like I could have gotten to that point. I'm way more successful live then online. My poker face when bluffing has tricked street players and casino player alike. Yeah, maybe I'll give it a shot once Covid disappears.:)

Poker for me is definitely a side hustle. Even if I won $200k in an event I probably wouldn’t quit my job. I mean I do get paid relatively good in my job and I am a stock broker those licenses are not easy to get.

If I can. I actually earn more playing poker than my normal job. In Venezuela the minimum wage is equivalent to $ 1.5 a month, in poker I can earn a year's salary playing only one freeroll

Well, considering the fact that I am unemployed, then yes, my winnings are identical to my income on poker.

I think you can only make money playing poker if you do it professionally, and if you are an amateur you won't earn much.:)

Hahaha. The day that happens I will stop working. But I'm still very, very bad at poker, so I think I will have to keep working hard, to keep playing poker.:cool:
