Because each person has the limit to decise thing.
Poker requires us to decise each hand (4 times or more).
Therefore, it makes me tired after games.

About 12 hours if i havent done anything else that day(work, mow the lawn etc)

About 2-3 hours in the morning and if there is no work also 2-3 hours in the afternoon of the same day. It all also depends on the success of the tournaments, which can increase or decrease the playing time.

About half way through the pandemic, when the pandemic was in full force and everything was shutting down (or already shut down) I was laid off of work. After that I started playing anywhere from 12 to 18 hours a day. I haven't been playing as much lately though.. Maybe 4 to 8 hours a day. For me, it depends a lot on my mood and hobbies. At the moment I see poker as a nice pastime and a tiny extra income. Thus, I play a maximum of 2-3 hours a day but only one tournament and as long as you get ahead there. So if I drop out earlier, I stop even after 10 minutes. And mainly freerolls. If I have won 1000$ through freerolls, I could imagine to play even longer and more often.
So I would say that this is also a self-protection for me not to get into the emotional track anymore, especially when a downswing comes and spoils the mood.
