actually i'm about $1400 above all-in EV since the beginning of the year, so i really shouldn't complain. I just feels a lot less normal when you're on the wrong side of variance for the day.

I feel kinda yucky about all this play. This is an fairly marginal hand pre flop. And A set on the flop in omaha is still a very weak hand. And in this case you have only 5 outs to a boat because of your 4 and you have little other possibility of improvement besides a backdoor flush which is often (especially this time) crushed.

I fold that flop almost instantly.

Nice pot though.

Sure.. and as someone who has made the majority of his bankroll by trolling for implied odds at micro stakes I am all for trying to limp and call your way into huge pots with good hands. And shove when you have the *nuts*. Or even a good draw to the nuts?

so friend from school (I actually think he's posted here a bit before) and I were planning to go up to Turning Stone this weekend. Then we found out there was a tourney series so I figure cash action should be amazing, plus I'm playing in a $750 75k guaranteed tourney and with the entry we got our room for like half price so we're paying like less than most normal hotels plus should have insane live action plus a super-juicy tourney. Definitely looking forward to it, leave Friday and get back Monday.

edit: oh and I'm gonna win the tourney because I was talking to friend on aim who pointed out the tourney series and I said I was debating the $750 tourney and in the course of 10 minutes get AA > QQ AIPF and AA > JJ he flats 3-bet and gets it in on 532 flop both at 400nl to cover buy-in. Obviously a sign that I'm gonna win it lol.

thats a pretty bad comparison tbh, its more the same as stacking off with 87 on a 876 board

But folding the flop is hella bad with top set, since even if both villains show up with the nuts, we have 33% equity which is obv what we need a 3 way pot. But also a lot of the time we will have the best hand. If the pot was HU, there would be a case, but not 3 way

i understand where u are coming from but the table was crazy and most of the players seemed to be holdem players in that they over played over pairs and i knew that if i hit anything on that flop, i would be playing for stacks against some loopy hands
