I could be wrong here, but in my opinion sports betting could probably be more profitable in the short term if you put just as many hours into as your poker studies. With poker you can learn strategy, read books, and join training sites, but you have to play thousands of hands and tons of different players with different strategies to really get good unless you are a math wiz and can pick up on GTO concepts very quickly and stick to that specific strategy. But even then you are still subject to suck outs and variance which could last longer than you would like and cause you to lose much more than you hoped before you actually start to see a return on your investment. With sports gambling I think the more time you put into familiarizing yourself with teams and statistics and trends the more profitable you will be which may take a few weeks but you don't have to bet much at all until your win rate is above 50% and you know you are a profitable sports better. With poker you can be an absolute stud at .10\.25 but then take your chances at 1/2 one day and get absolutely crushed. Then you are back to the drawing boards to learn how players at higher stakes play. Sports statistics do not change very drastically without injuries, big trades or hardcore slumps.

Most poker players sometimes bet on sports events. What's so surprising about that? And poker is played when there is time. You at least did not surprise so many do. And this is normal.

I think sports betting maybe more for fun and for your "soul" while poker is more professional.
you can't get professional at sports betting.

Hi

wizebettor said:
Does any of you poker players bet on sports? I am a full time sports bettor but getting into poker as hobby since its fun. But I don't think i could ever become a full time poker player sitting on the table 8 hours a day. Wouldn't that be stressful? I mean even if you have an office job, you don't need to focus all the time. With sports betting I spend only few hours a day and now a days even less.

Poker however has something that still pulls you in. Its challenging and interesting and even though i started as a hobby i am tempted to play more. But when i play bigger games, i do well only during the first hour and then i get too lose by losing patience.

Hi wizebettor. Setting times to play is good. Being patient is good after that first hour is good. The cards will come back. I'm not sure how big of games you play, but you could be playing out of your league. Move down, and see if that helps you. GL

The problem with sport betting is that if u bet on one game, u wont get much money, so u go for multiple bets
For instance, I bet that
Man U vs Sevilla will end in a draw and -2.5 goals.
Toulouse - Nantes 2 & both to score
Japan - Myannmar Japan and +4.5

Chelsea Vs Man City Chelsea to win and -2.5.
Halifax vs Chesterfield +2.5
Kiel - Koln, 1 and both to score
Brenford - Swansea 2 and both to score.
The last one effed me good because the Welsh decided not to score. so 10 euros out the drains

In some cases, I have made sports bets and have won more money than I do at poker. Although in poker it depends more on you than on others, although in both you must analyze what your play will be

I've been doing some of both worlds for few years now and I can tell you it's totally different. If you are good at poker doesn't mean you are in sports betting.
But i enjoy both and try to be profitable.

well, these are different things, for example, I bet on sports or e-sports just to warm up interest so that it would be more interesting to watch the match, the game of my team

I do really good betting on the 2nd game that colleges play against each other in basketball. It is so much faster making money than poker which requires attendance. Usually poker, I need to pay attention for 3 hours to make some cash.

Sportsbetting, I can gather the info I need to make a good decision on a game in 6 minutes, then just wait to hear the results, without even needing to watch the game.

I started out with sports betting, and I spent a lot of my time doing it with pretty good results. When Chris Moneymaker won the Main Event at the wsop, that changed for me. I got hooked on the poker bug and it continues today. But I still like to bet something from time to time.

Have patience

Hi Bro! Your question is very interesting. I have an answer for it. Betting on sports and poker is a passion. People do this for a living. Betting is fast, poker is slow. In poker, there are disciplines where you can play fast, like turbo mode, or where there are 3 dudes. You try to play poker in the morning - as soon as you wake up, then when you feel that your patience is running out - we switch to betting. Good luck bro!

I preffer poker, sporting betting is just one bet, when the poker all hands can be one bet.

I do both but my experience in sports betting shows that to be successful you have two choices:

1. To invest serious amount of time following certain leagues and trying to get edge over the bookie.
2. Pay for some professional tips and try to earn more than you paid for the advice itself.

To sum it up - if you think that sports booking is easier, cheaper and requiring less time and efforts way to earn money - well think again. :)

hello

I do not make sports bets if I play a lot of poker I understand your situation if you work it becomes difficult to play 8 hours a day and it is good that you play a little ... but there is the mistake ... lose your temper if that happens to you you must stop play at that time until you calm down .. it also happens to me that I get anxious and it's the worst !!!

In poker it is you who plays and decides your result. On the other hand, in sports betting you wait for the other to decide your result.

I also came to poker from sports betting. After that, I began to make less bets in quantity and size. Now I have 1-2 bets a month and I win almost everything. I didn't throw money into poker, I play for the money won from freerolls, and not a small part of them is our community.
The bets ceased to interest me so that I would place incomprehensible bets every day.

poker you have a buy-in and thats it, when sports betting you can get carried away and bet many sports and many games, i will stick with poker, having said that, they just allowed single game wagering in Canada, so who knows!

It is worth replacing. More poker - and less sports betting. I think it's more interesting and exciting to have a game with your own players than to be a spectator waiting for the game to end.
