I know it's not ideal (we should always be studying our opponents at the tables when we're not in the hand)...

...but I fully admit that I usually play a puzzle game while I play poker, especially if I am single-tabling a tournament.

yes, tournament poker can be very boring if it is early in the tourney and you aren't getting any cards worth playing... so that's when I play Windows Minesweeper or Solitaire or Sudoku or do a crossword puzzle or play my personal hidden gem, Hexcells Infinite on Steam...

this helps me to pass the time while folding, and it keeps me from making stupid plays at the poker table because i was bored. LOL

For live poker, I always bring my mp3 player, music becomes my distraction.

What you could do is create a private tournament and invite your friends to the online table. Then you can do a Zoom call and everyone can safely drink, talk nonsense and play online poker together.

Perhaps some of us on CC could get a 'ZooM' game happening??

Personally I like both live & online. Live at the casino I do find pretty sloooooow though.

Poker online takes away the most fun aspect of the game out of it , human interaction , yet with the pandamic it becaming even more popular .

i cant comprehend that someone would rather play online on playing "live" on a table .

I also like live poker over online poker. Online poker can be very boring if you aren't paying attention to all the action at the table. It is sad that you do lose the human element to poker playing online.

I consider online poker to be more of a math-based game.

Live poker is more of a people-based game.

My entire life has been math-based thru schooling and then for my career (civil engineer)... and my personality is introverted, I'm NOT a "people person", I often go into a shell and hide. LOL Therefore its probably no surprise that I'm someone who loves online poker more than playing live. I never get nervous playing online, but I get terrible nervous and anxious playing live poker. But it's not the cards, its the fact that I have to interact with people and get into face-to-face confrontations... you see, I have a terrible problem for live poker, my face turns beet red at the smallest little thing... if i tell a lie, my face gets red... so bluffs are difficult for me. And also, when I get a big hand and the adrenaline flows so my heart races, well that also makes my face turn a bright shade of red. And my hands shake too. LOL Not ideal at all.

...online and live. But now with the pandemic most casinos are not playing poker. The casino I normally play at has cash games but the tables are only 5 handed. I play a lot more online now because I have to. That is if I want to play poker at all. If you don’t like online poker just don’t play. Just my opinion!

I have been playing online for many years and somehow I am not bored with this form of poker. I play in several poker rooms and recently I really like playing mobile. And maybe also because I enjoy the game all the time, it brings profits.

maybe online poker boring than live, cause there you cant see people getting mad after losing or something, but in online poker you have to make decision in time, you cant go outside and pleased other players to wait. i prefer play live poker with my friend at home and talk about anything

well, live poker also has some disatvantages... if you are card dead for hours and you sit on one table, and sometimes the players arent too talkative. plus you need to get a drive late if you finish in late hours, and you cant start it anytime you want like in online poker. both sides have good sides and bad sides

I don’t think that cheating takes place in online poker, as they make good money on rake. Therefore, all problems are in your head. We all have failures.

At least with online poker you get to play a decent number of hands. When playing real poker with friends, they start talking a lot, and it might take up to 10 minutes per hand. You then realize that a whole hour has passed and you hav only played between 6 to 10 hands.
