Yeah there are maybe 1 or 2 here but 10 or 15 is a gross overestimate.

Personally I'm inclined to just let Bodog die as far as a place for humans to play. It will quickly become the biggest bot experiment to date.

Someone should tell Stars that they're catering to the wrong audience I guess. I'm pretty sure satisfying serious grinders has only made them the biggest site online. Who wants to deal with that kind of sucess?

A much better last ditch effort to save the site would have been to just fix their buggy software. Guess they'll figure that out soon enough though.

Yep. That combined with their seemingly excellent ability to get their players paid with 7 days could have given them the US market.

But like I said who wants to be successful.

Exactly, that 1 week payment to US players is so ridiculously good that you can build a name around it. But unfortunately they failed at everything else and have some horrible customer reps posting on all the different forums.

no doubt i woulda given bodog my deposit and the rake from me 4+tabling cash games. I tried it out several months back, and the software was my only real issue; the laggyness, and graphics was at the time what killed it for me. I saw this thread software update and was like sweet maybe its time to re-check bodog???

Not gonna happen; the idea that site wide anon. tables is good or lends greater credibility is just ridiculous. And the biggest most obvious; the winning player plays 2-4+ tables which = greater rake; the majority of rec. players do not multitable. so lmao of at this truly genius site management.

You'd think with the oppurtunity Bodog has had since BF that even a simpleton could make changes on that site that could easily double (triple?.. quadruple?) player traffic/volume. But.. nope. They choose to do the opposite, & pull off the ultimate fail.

This is what I was thinking right after BF. Bodog could have ruled the poker world and they dropped the ball. Who's really in charge of these upgrades (downgrades, er:: downloads), whatever? And whoever is putting BodogBecky down, STOP IT. I don't know anyone on any site who had been more on our side or tried to help us. Do you?

Okay, that's it. All the aforementioned idiocy is bad enough, but now they've crossed a line I cannot abide by.

I have Bodog, as I do all poker clients, installed to my D: drive. I install nothing to my C: drive, which is an SSD for OS only. This Bodog "update" blew away my D: installation and installed to C:\Bodog. Not even C:\Program Files which is the Windows default. C:\Bodog. Such an abominable sin cannot be understated.

Glad I blew off my last $8 last night while checking out the insanity. Uninstalling as we speak...

Yeah, you wouldn't want recreational sports bettors to be at a disadvantage because they didn't know diddly squat about the teams, players or horses, as the case may be.

And what about the Bodog poker pros? What role will they have? Or they now history too?

Lark, they haven't sponsored pros in a long time, since the UIGEA at least. As I recall David Williams was the last one. Getting rid of pros was part of their conversion to this Recreational Player Model.

Good point, but I'm not sure I see them as the same sort of pros. First, given Bodog (and Calvin's) playboy image, it's not surprising that they'd keep 3 hot chicks around, none of which are considered high level pros (although Ng is close I guess). It'll be interesting to see if they're still around after the first of the year -- Calvin may be taking them with him. Second, I don't think you ever see them playing with the "recreational players," or at least it's not promoted like on other sites. They're more like spokespersons (or spokesmodels, as it were).

I read somewhere awhile back that they were not only dropping sponsored pros but speaking out against the other sites for promoting pro players playing among the fishes.

I have Bodog, as I do all poker clients, installed to my D: drive.

I too load all my poker sites on my external hard drive (drive E.) and I too have had the update install automatically to my C drive.

I am going to delete bodog from my C drive, I was going to delete it from my E Drive but found that the update must have done it also automatically.
Now after I delete it I will try downloading it like a new install and hopefully it will allow me to tell it to which drive I want it on.

I might not do it for a few days but I will let you know how I went DM.

Yes it is US friendly but I would suggest that you read the whole of this thread before you play there.
