Pokerstars aurora engine

Apparently, one of the streamers who is on Stars team(innerpsy) has been able to disable Aurora Graphics. (I'm not sure how to do it though & haven't tried it yet)

I made this today and worked perfectly like the past times.
I creat a shortcut to this imgcache paste to clean it everydqy and can run ps like I want. Hope it will long last.

The normal graphics have already returned to me, I think the Aurora problem lasted 1 or 2 days. Go to configuration and deactivate Aurora.

Doesn't exist anymore. .. .There is no option to disable/deactivate it.

I have a weak computer, it is a 2-core processor 2,700 Hz, 4 GB of RAM, the PokerStars client with one open table loads the processor by 25%, so playing a lot of tables and even more so running several poker clients will not work.

Yes, I'm a little bit disappointed that they got rid of the Legacy Graphics, because I don't have a REALLY modern system either, and the software is a little laggy, though I can get two tables going, albeit with some lag.

Though to be honest, I'm not a multi-tabler, where I'm going to go to 4-8 tables anyway, even for a tournament, I'm not an MTT grinder, I like to play on occasion.

The new graphics are too heavy for my computer as well.
I uninstalled the client and then reinstalled. The first time you run the client after the installation it has the option to deactivate aurora. But then when you log-in the second time it's not there. This means that the code for running the old graphics is installed. Any ideas how to disable that thing???

I also tried to run the pokerstars.exe instead of the pokerstarsupdate.exe but the option to disable the aurora is not there. supermad!@$$^&#!@

Hello, Everyone! I tried play on aurora engine, but...through time I'm came back by more ordinary for me old software...
Personally for me is more comfortable in the present time. Further I will look...

For memory problems on older computers, I found this helps as well:

Go to your task manager and find the XBOX line in the processes and "end task".
Not sure how to get rid of it permanently, so I just do that as soon as I start Stars.

It backs to your previous and custom image. If you do not customize it, there won't be much difference.
But, for some old videos cards, this aurora is too heavy and simply does not work or make it too heavy.

I think that these graphic special effects are completely unnecessary and in fact they are of no use. I play poker for the sake of the game itself, not for some visualization or graphic special effects. It is very unfortunate that the updates only worsen the game itself.

I find it obnoxious not leaving the legacy graphics at least as an option that players can switch to. The legacy graphics is lightweight, and most importantly it looks good.

The most annoying thing about the new graphics is that the text looks awful/unreadable!

Fortunately, somebody mentioned in the replies that you can get the old look by deleting the the insides ImgCache folder. Let's enjoy this trick for some time until they they patch it.

Here are some screenshots to see the difference. You can barely read the player names on the Aurora small table, forget about being able to read the chat.

The throwables are annoying and Stars RNG is a joke, but they still beat the competition. I am going to start a thread so we can all come up with what the ideal poker site would look like.

I did exactly what was suggested (deleting all the files in the folder specified), and it worked for me. I was able to run 3 tables on Zoom at a time (I could barely run 2 on Aurora Graphics - I have an Intel i5 Dual Core, so probably pretty quite a relic relative to more current technology).

Anyway, I'm happy it's working for the time being.

yep still working but probably just short term solution, a lot of people complain about the aurora engine however, I don't expect stars to do anything about that, they just do not listen to the community.

All of this for the one benefit of to be able to throw a firecracker at the villain. It’s crazy isnt it that it actually doesn’t make it better it is just to add this feature.
