It seems that Stars is moving in the wrong direction.
You should give the players more chance to win even if it is less. That way it is more fun. But Noooooooooo; not with Stars lately.

Seems like that.Gorak said:I don't even know if the Rep reads this thread anymore.![]()

Hi Dylan, ty for being back in this thread.PokerStars VIP said:The ChromeStar Weekly Freeroll is increased to $10K this year and the payout structure pays out 18% of the field versus 14% last year. Am I misunderstanding something?

Dylan
Gorak said:Hi Dylan, ty for being back in this thread.
The last ChromeStar Weekly (10K on Feb 6 2016) paid about 10% of the field. There were more than 20K players and only about 2K players got paid.
I hope this is a mistake that will be corrected and not a permanent decision from management.
Winning, even a small amount, gives me the incentive to play more.
By the way PokerStars' Giveaway Freerolls have an insane payout structure. It should be changed and mimic the old 100K Privilege Freerolls (paid 18% of the field I think). All the players that were playing the 100K Privilege Freerolls are disappointed in the new Giveaway Freerolls.
Make a survey here on CardsChat or on 2 + 2 and you will see that people would prefer the old Privilege Freerolls to these disaster Giveaway Freerolls.

I guess since you are here and the topic of the chromestar freeroll was brought up. Why the time change? It went from 3:30pm to now 11am ET, i guess the 11am ET works better for the uk timezones but doesn't seem like its getting more players because of it since it used to get 21k+ on the old time anyhow.
Just curious on the change, as I always enjoyed the challenge of the huge field and potential of the big score up top (for a freeroll) but now I will rarily if ever be able to make them unfortunately.
Cheers
This interrupt mechanism was introduced just last week for the Chromestar $10K. The payout the week before was 18% and it paid about 3600 spots. I think the minimum payout was between $0.35 and $0.55 (enough to play a Sit N Go); not 5 cents; do your homework!PokerStars VIP said:The structure pays out 18% if there are approx. 10,000 entrants or less. When there are more, there is a mechanism which interrupts paying out more players so that the minimum payout is a meaningful amount. In the case of the ChromeStar $10K, that amount is $1.10. If we were to pay out 18% of the field, the min-cash would be something like 5 cents.
I knew it was a management decisionPokerStars VIP said:It was decided that we would rather give players a meaningful amount versus paying out more players minuscule amounts. However, I have passed on your feedback as it's not something set in stone and I do see your point of view.
Thanks,
Dylan

. PokerStars is moving in the wrong way lately. You say you want more recreational players; then make the payout structures more fun to play. There is a huge difference between an 18% and 10% payout structure. If all your tourneys were to have a 10% payout structure; I'd quit playing on PokerStars. On the other hand if all of your tourneys were paying 18% of the field I'd play way more on PokerStars.
If you have any access to Daniel Negreanu; ask him if he likes soft payout structures (i.e. paying more spots) or hard payout structures (i.e. paying less spots).
$0.33 still counts for a micro stake player. Besides making the money is not the end of the tourney; we can ladder up you know…PokerStars VIP said:I am only referring to freeroll examples where the minimum-payout is a very small amount.
Thanks,
Dylan
as a UK player I'd prefer the old time as 11amET is 4pm UK which is still to early if you have families etcBluffMeAllIn said:Glad to see your back dylan, thanks.

Seems like that.
Full Tilt and Pokerstars have the same e-mail support network.
Got an email from tilt, signed off by a pokerstars header.
Should of kept it. looked pretty funny.
