I tried it--wasn't impressed. I seemed to be in early position or the blinds a disproportionate amount of the time. I question whether it's really poker, as there is no adjusting to the way other players play. It also doesn't seem to be a helpful tool to learn how to play poker. There are play chip Rush Poker tables in case you want to try it for free (it's worth that much), but I don't think Full Tilt needs extra rake this badly to resort to this.

You might pooch. It is addictive as hell.

Rush

Ruish is fun when you are winning a little.

I like playing deep, but I might even rathole. ;)

Just tried it for a bit on play money and it sucks. Not to mention it's slowing the SnGs I like to play. Thumbs down from me.

yeah im afraid they are going to change their bonus stuff (iron man, etc.) since getting there is gonna be so easy for almost everyone.....I hope not though....they are cashing in on the rake. I think i've played close to 6k hands today. bout 1500 ftps today haha. The other thing about this is that the fish are gonna go busto that much quicker.....hopefully they turn into atms though. Idk.

Another advantage of it is there is none of this second guessing and folder's remorse. "Oh, if I'd have limped in I would have flopped trips. Arrrgh!"

None of that.

You can watch the current hand to the end after you fold, however, by clicking "sit out next hand."

Do the 'second guessers' and those suffering 'folder's remorse' realize that on Full Tilt and most other online rooms the cards are dealt from a constant shuffle? The cards you see dealt on the flop, turn, river are NOT the cards that would have been dealt if the deal changed in any manner.

A fraction of a second delay and another mouse click from another table or two and the next card/s change. This is not a set deck like they use on Pokerstars.

The fact that a person (or you) at your table delayed or mouse clicked isn't the reason for the change of cards. It's the entropy developed from the other influences to the RNG from other tables and sources DURING the time (in fractions of seconds) that your table alters the play.

It shouldn't take too long for things to return to normal. There will be a lot of players sticking to the new 'rush' game, but many will leave after the novelty and frenzy wears off.

This was also my experience when I opted to give Rush a go...it gave me a headrush (not the good kind since I have recurring vertigo :(). If RBP ever approves me for rakeback, may try it again but for now, it's a no go. Glad to read some members are having a good/great experience though :).

Switch the transition to fade mode. The default is a little unsettling, but fade is not.

Rush Poker Opinion

I saw it and wondered about it in Fulltilt. I couldn't observe since it is not allowed, but I did manage to view a few video clips on youtube to get an idea of what it was all about. Looks like fun, but I recommend a fairly decent bankroll before actually playing it. It is fast and it leaves little to imagination for making calls or instant folds. I may try it sometime, but I will await other's replies on their experiences.

It should be pretty innovative since Chris Ferguson has commented on it, Durrrr (Tom Dwan) is giving it shot. I guess we just have to see where it goes from here after a few have tried it out for size.

I never did this well in 4 months on regular tables. I plan to continue with Rush Poker.

Lol at all the people who think their heaters are gonna last forever and they can just play rush poker forever and make stupid moneyz, are you seriously saying that you never made 2BI's at 5nl in 4 months of poker???

Rush pokers good for a laugh but the games aren't going to stay like this forever and i can see it turning into a SUPER high variance game with set over sets, KK<<AA etc etc a very regular occurrence, i play cash games atm and move up to take a 3BI shot at 23 Bi's for the next level, if i was playing rush i think i'd want about 30-35 tbh b/c it just seems to me like you could take a 10BI downswong quite easily and with you mashing the quick fold button in a frenzy you won't even notice until you quit and half your rolls gone lol

Thats cuz it's their job, there were loads of red pro's playing rush on the first day and it was for one reason only, to attract the player pool to the new game, i think howard lederrer said that its the 'best way to learn poker' or something and its REALLY not lol if a complete noob deposits $100 and plays rush poker he may go on a huge heater but more than likely he's going to lose it in about an hour, the only thing he learnt there was a tough lesson on BRM lol

Putting $60 in starting at 2nl and grinding your way through the limits is the best way to learn poker, howard lederrer knows this, he just earns a shit-ton from FT and will say anything to make more :D

Ok. I officially hate Rush Poker now. This is just my opinion. Nobody can care if they don't want to. I lost all my profit on Rush Poker that I made from the day it came out. I was excited at first regardless of if it ruins the traditional poker but now, I'm really hating it. After seeing my KK getting cracked by J9o and lose my max buy-in within 2 minutes, i prefer standard ring games. But it was a good idea that full tilt came up with. Props to full tilt for taking online poker to a new level.

Where are you playing 5NL? 10NL is the min, or do you mean buying in at 10NL for 5$?

Yes, sorry. I was playing 10NL. $10 max buy-in.

I ended up $13 after about 2 1/2 hours of play, down from a max of +$23. But I saw some amazing stacks go by. Lots of guys with $20+. I saw some $40s and $60.

The biggest I saw was $132. Now these guys might be plants or something. But I don't think so. There was definitely some money moving around that you don't see under normal even multi-table circumstances.

No, I'm saying I never made it in 30 minutes at one table. (Actually it was 10NL.)

Or turn off all animation (Option menu on main FT screen) and the new table just appears. Failing that fade >>>> Slide.

My netbook has a max res of 1024 x 600. This is not enough for the new views in FTP. I wrote to them and they stated that the engineeers are working on a fix for netbook users.

Sean Pilgrim said:
All you need to do is adjust your screen resolution. I'm going to try it on my netbook when I get home after work. That's what FT sent me an e-mail about. So I'll try it out, you do the same.

^^^ Pretty much this, I've busted a shedload of my roll which I only just got to a decent playable level, -16 BI at NL10 rush has put me back to pretty much where I was before my big daily dollar cash sunday night :(.

Seven of those buy ins work out as my rake paid... and I have no rakeback on FT lol.

People who claim that rush poker isn't real poker are missing the point that online poker isn't real poker either. Real poker is sitting around a table with live people fumbling with cards and chips.

Or so some might say. What is "real poker" anyway? Who's to say?

The questions for me are:

(1) Is it fun? (Yep, I had a blast.)
(2) Can it make money? (Yes, I made money faster than I ever have.)

Will it continue that way? Who knows? Maybe it's too good to be true. But I intend to let it play out instead of scoffing at innovation.

Manufacturers of horse-drawn carriages famously scoffed at automobiles when they first appeared. "They'll be gone in a few years! Har!!," they crowed.

I can see rush appealing to and fitting some personalities better than others. But if it gives you and your game an edge, you'd be foolish not to take it.

Yes I was thinking that about iron man/bonus' also. I earned so many ftp points yesterday I got bonus medals lol. And the rakeback is unbelieveable! Check out how much rake I earned in one day...more than I would make all month playing 5nl...but I usually single/double table with no HUD, but with rush I was able to play 6 tables and still win.

RUSHRAKE1stRushftp20th

So we will see how today goes I guess, hope today will be a good day too.
