For me is better to start in time, try to get chips from the beginning.

I find myself praying for late registration to end, while at the same time being impatient to reach the final stages of the game. When I play aggressively, I think I increase my risk of losing — maybe I’m actually more of a cash game player.

That’s normal tbh. Late reg feels like chaos and final table feels like forever away. Aggro play increases variance for sure, but playing scared in MTTs is even worse. It’s actually a thin line

Late registration ends when it ends. Yes i dont know if tournaments are for you if you pray for something to end that has a time limit

If there is a tourney with 4 hours late registration, I will register after it has been playing for three hours. Otherwise, I just skip late registration tournaments.

I’ve never really considered late registration. I just play my normal game early in tournaments and try not to get distracted by stuff like this. Don’t put unnecessary pressure on your game in early stages and play your own game.

Late registration is a polarizing topic, but I personally see it as a double-edged sword. On one hand, it’s great for flexibility, especially if you have a busy schedule and can't commit to a 10-hour session from the start. However, the closer you register to the deadline, the more you’re forced into a 'push or fold' game since your stack will usually be very shallow compared to the blinds

Late registration offers flexibility and a chance to enter the tournament, but it increases variance and hinders initial strategy. I prefer to avoid it, starting on time and valuing rhythm and the full prize pool.

Personally, I prefer registering early or right on time for MTTs. Playing the early levels allows you to see more flops cheaply and gives you a chance to build a big stack early on. Late registration is fine if you are short on time, but entering with only 15-20 BBs really limits your options to just push/fold poker. I'd rather have the deep stack and the room to play post-flop.

late registration is about right in the Cardschat freerolls on ReplayPoker. what i don't like is getting bumped from the tourney if you are still sitting out after 18 minutes in the daily games .

I have a negative attitude toward late registration because it significantly limits my opportunities in a tournament. By entering late, I end up with a short stack and practically lose the ability to maneuver, be creative, and play strategically.
Instead of gradually building chips and reading opponents, I’m forced to play in survival mode right away — taking more risks and relying on luck.
Moreover, late registration takes away the most important advantage — time:
time to adapt to the table, identify weaker players, and build a comfortable stack.
For me, a tournament is a marathon, not a sprint.
And late entry turns it into exactly that — a sprint where too much depends on chance.
