couple of questions for you......first one, i was playing tonight and i had pocket 9's and a small stack 40bb behind raises...now i know i dont have the odds to setmine but i was confident that the 2 guys with big stacks and aggros will call it too so i played the hand....so is implied odds setmining ok?.......second question, i had pocket 8's and call a raise, flop misses jT4 i check he bets....should i fold here or re-raise to get info on whether he's bluff cbetting...and if he calls then its a check/fold obv....the guy was very loose...about 50vpip...thanks

Alfie aren't you playing 5nl??

With the 99, it's fine to call so long as you aren't ONLY playing it for the set-mining value. 99 is starting to get into the range of PP's that's strong enough to play just for its pair-value rather than set-value.

With the 88, you're not really raising for info there... Think about it if you have to raise to roughly 12 bb (3 bb raise pre -> 7 bb in the pot, say he cbets 5 bb, you have to raise to at least 12 bb probably), you're throwing away money the times he has a hand. And on a board like that he's very likely to have at least connected. Most opening ranges will have a gutshot minimum there, since any double broadway/big ace either has a pair or a straight draw. Just throw it away. If you're not comfortable playing PP's out of position then just muck them preflop. There's no shame in that if you're not playing those spots profitably yet.

99 I 3bet gii vs shorty, but I'm an aggrotard when it comes to people who turn up with no money :D

But, maybe if you think those other dudes are droolers you could let them into the pot, just be prepared to be folding postflop a lot.

88 hand, we'd be raising for value or as a bluff. You'll get your info afterwards ;)

Basically I agree with what Scourrge said, there's no harm in mucking preflop.

All of this though, without any info on villains. I usually play a very vs villain game myself, so I don't usually do v well in a vacuum. It's best to provide more info in that respect.

Saw your vid, you ran bad. I don't like anon tables. Having said that, I've played a few cos ipoker now has them (€20NL) and wow are they soft and spewy. I think I might play a few more. Still, overall I prefer to play vs known villains than anon.

Were there any particular spots you feel as though were tricky during that session? There were a few hands I would have opened that you folded pre, but apart from that nothing really stood out. I was playing a league match when I watched it though, so I was a little distracted.

I sometimes deliberately open a bit tighter when I feel I'm running bad, more for keeping myself out of marginal spots and to be less likely to spew. I definitely prefer playing against known opponents, but anon tables also have some benefits for sure.

I'll have to re-watch to see if there were any spots I was very unsure of - typically spots that take longer and I'm not immediately saying my thought process will be ones I'm not sure about haha. As for not opening certain hands pre, can you be more specific than that? As I said before it may have been deliberate tightening up, but it may also have had to do with stack sizes of the blinds or limpers or just average table stack, since so many people buy in short.

Thanks a bunch for watching, Cafe - really appreciate the feedback. I'm discovering that making videos, and in particular making session reviews are way and away the most helpful for me... Which is somewhat ironic I suppose.

I'm gonna take another look, I should have made notes really, but like I say, I was watching more as entertainment than anything while playing in the league lol.

Serious hat on now though!

yeah i was playing 5nl on 1 table, but ive just started with multi tabling (up to 8 now) not really confident enough to blast it all on 5nl, plus my game isnt good enough for it yet....yeah i know its only 5nl lol but still, all good things come to those who work hard :)

yeah i usually just play for setmining value tbh, especially at 2nl when an overcard pops on the flop and they call down with TPBK..its hard to put these guys on ranges, well its not but its hard to use it coz they are not thinking about that....so pocket 9's are not that great if they miss the set i dont think...but you will know better than me, i will try different things and question them etc....

yeah i agree on the 2nd hand man, not really beating anything on the flop so prob best to let it go, esp on a draw heavy board like that and a villian thats betting...thanks for the numbers.

so you are not bothered about playing for a set you just wanna GII against the shorty...sounds interesting, might be hard to do that in MP or whatever esp if there are droolers in front of you....do you really need that much info on villians at 2nl?...i usually just go with their vpip/pfr and thats it...what other stats do i need do you think?..thanks

Well I don't think you gave their VPIP/PFR either? Did you have many hands on them?

nah about 30-40 hands, vips were about 50, thats why it was tricky spots for me, if they were regs then its easier decisions lol

I only really look at VPIP/PFR, 3bet, F3bet, cBet, steal and aggression frequency.

yeah i think you would need that stuff for 10nl>....any idea on the best times to play (when the fish come out)...just been sat at tables there and 7-8 regs at the table and 1 fish....its 2nl ffs, and that was on 8 tables......cant be arsed sitting about swapping coolers and not getting paid of when i do hit with these guys....so i spent abit time looking for juicy tables and deep stacked fish, topped up 250bb's on 4 tables and won 4 100bb by ins...not bad for 20 mins...might be the plan in future...find deep fish, and sit tooled up instead of messing with the 40bb reggy russians....lol....

honestly, I can't imagine your having trouble finding fish at 2nl. There's really not going to be any good players lurking around too often, so just load up tables w/high pot $ /avg plyrs on flop imo and make the $

This. I've just been using the auto seat button on stars playing 5nl/10nl and I've never hit a table where I didn't get at least one passive fish and a bunch of weak regs.

Yeah true guys, maybe its coz I'm new to the multi table shizzle, will sort it out....just played 500 hands, I know, lol sample, but finished down half a buy in, lots of fish just couldn't get going, the flops were sick, 3 flush flops, straight flops and when I did get AA,KK,QQ I wasn't getting paid coz of the flop textures, SICK....deffo messes with the confidence, hopefully it gets better soon, not being able to crush 2nl is a biatch.....question....when you guys first started multi tabling, did it take you awhile to get comfy and start progressing?...ps, I went from 1 table to 8......and I think I'm coping good with the pace, and have enough time to access things and make decisons, so I dont feel under pressure, infact I think I'm learning more.

Not sure to GII on H1. What we beat there aside of AQ?

Do we think a 10/2 passive-nit (AF of 0.7) and that fold to CB´s 83% (5 of 6) will min-raise on flop and bet pot on turn with AQ?.
We are beat by JJ/QQ/AA/22, what else could a nit like this limp from utg, i don´t think he will take this line with 33-TT/AK and i assume he don´t play other hands there.
(maybe AJ but no reason to go aggresive with that).

(maybe AJ but no reason to go aggresive with that).

yeah good point, never looked at his stats properly....yeah flat his min raise and hope to hit a king on the turn...if not then get away from it, looks like JJ/QQ/22/AA like you say....dont think he's min raising with TPTK here, nits like that usually need 2 pair or better before they start getting adventurous

No point to comment because post the result, but in general river raises are the nuts, more if villain AF is less than 2
