I get were you are going with this, 3bet or fold right.
This deep and at this particular table almost every hand was multi-handed unless you put in a very big raise pre. There was very little folding to 3bets and a ton of limp calling up to x6-x7, you had to make it like x10 to get a fold pre.

The btn was a fish which is why I got in the hand.
With it still being 3handed ideally want flush over flush which is a possibility. That is what I was looking for with the check raise as if there was a small flush out there they would likely get in in at that point, you risk another diamond on the river and the small flush doesn't pay off.
A set in the hands of the fish might even decide to gamble.
Clearly the CR loses value as straight draws might arrive on the river and get into trouble
As it was I still picked up a reasonable pot 64bb.

I posted this hand in my thread but I wanted to see what you guys thought of it. Kind of coolerish but with the 4 card straight on the end I figured all of his Ax could be doing this. Thoughts?

Yeah this is a bit of a cooler, its difficult folding full houses to a guy with his stats, the only problem is we have bottom set which does make us more vulnerable than usual to a suck out.
I think we could bet bigger on the turn but makes no difference on the end, I can't see I'm ever folding,
If he had QQ KQ we would probably hear about it on the flop or turn but he could easily be playing both a bit slow.
Really difficult to put him on KJ but I don't think he is really shoving AK like this.... so it is difficult to see what we beat.
When you post it, don't show his hand, just ask do we call the shove?

Next time I'll leave his hand out. I definitely think he would shove an AK on the end. He was a tight aggressive super fish and I don't think he'd slow play sets or Aces. I ran the equity on this spot and if he will indeed shove his A high straights with all of the two pair and set combos it's a call on the end.

Well you either fire the 3rd barrel or you give up, we aint calling with a pair of 3's!! This is the problem with playing oop especially blind v blind when you have no idea what he has. The key to the 3rd barrel is his wtsd% if its under say 22% then fireaway anything more than 26% definite fold. In between its meh and i'd be looking at how aggressive is he generally and what's his river bet%.

66 I'm folding preflop everytime without batting an eyelid unless its mega deep. Even if we hit a set getting paid oop is really difficult. Tbh mate that is a bad call.

A3: he called two large barrels. He's not folding, you didn't improve to beat a bluff. Get out. And this is coming from someone who calls down sick light.

66: I agree with Figaroo2: fold preflop. Not the first call, though, that one is fine, imo. But once the BB 3-bets, you're in trouble.

I wouldn't advocate a 3-bet here this deep. I just mean fold pre. I guess because the fish is deep, didn't realize how deep, it's ok. But the problem is you have the reg in between you guys. I'm not sure it's +EV long term, but it's very hard to quantify.

agg numbers? Any ways, CR bigger on the flop. Bet larger on the turn. I think you can bet/fold on the river. I mean, only a small % of people are jamming straights there w/ how that hand played out. I don't think someone like this is every turning his hand into a bluff either. So either you were already far behind by the turn, or the river did you in.

Just fold pre. It sucks, he's going to be squeezing a wide range a lot there, but oh well. Really strange bet amounts. I think at this level you can get away w/ betting the turn here. As played, river is probably pretty close to neutral EV call/fold. He looks like he may just be a monkey based on his stats. So I probably just look him up, but I don't think a fold is that far off.

His agg% was 60 something. I agree I could have made larger bets though. Sometimes I get tricked up when deciding how much to make it. Should it always be relative to the pot size or their bet size?

I tend to be very cautious on boards with 3 broadways on them as it hits a lot of ranges very hard. Given that he called a BTN raise from the BB his range in this situation would be wider than just broadways. Do you think that when you check behind on the flop he would bet almost all of his one pair hands into you on the turn, meaning that by check raising his range becomes very polarized to either Jx (could even be pair and a straight draw type hands, most of which we beat) or a made straight?

Not sure what to make of this hand his small check raise and smallish river value looking bet reeks of nuts or air so we call for the information as to what he has when he check raises like this and in the hope that we are good here sometimes I suppose.
I can't see what worse that we beat check raises though QJ at a stretch unless he's just trying his luck with his garbage.
I'd expect to see QT J9 KT KJ most of the time. He has 3bet a few times already so we know he has aggressive tendencies enough to do this with air on occasion.

I would expect 2 pair hands to bet the turn to get value from one pair hands and charge Jx. Therefore his nutty range really only consists of J9, AJ.

His wtsd is 17% out of 18 hands overall ag48% Riv aggression 83% 5of 6
Im always wary when theres a draw on like flush draws and gutshots 9T, JT etc so when they all miss what has he got, either a Q A4 or nothing(missed draw).
Is this reasoning wrong???

The more I play the more I realise people arent paying off setminers anymore, well maybe only me lol.

What are the norm now for setmining. Ive stopped when OOP, and against single opponents who arent deep.

SO in general should it be :

• In Position
• When Deep over 100BBs, deeper when 3Bet pots maybe 150BBs
• Against AGGRO opponents (Nits dont pay off anymore)

In the hand I called because I was IP against aggressive 48% although may have need to be deeper as a 3Bet pot. Was confused with small bet sizing and ended up paying all the way and he turned over AA.

~hindsight small betsizing as perfect flop for him as he was trying to target alot of Kings in my hand and hands like 99-QQ

Hand 1 bad call!!! If we had 3rd pair and could beat 44 then maybe look them up.
Hand 2 let me clarify when I said fold pre that was folding to the 3bet not to the initial raise.
I'm getting away from flatting 22 33 44 in the blinds against a single raiser. I get much better results just 3betting or folding them. It does depend on the player to a certain extent. I still might flat a small pp against a weak nit type with 100bb who is likely to overplay a premium pair. Looser/decent players either don't have a strong enough starting hand or are too good to pay you off anyway.

CR on the turn is more like nuts or air, not Jx though. He likely bets Jx on the turn or CR flop a large %. Yeah, I didn't like how I played this hand. I don't mind the turn call, because like I said, I open up his bluffing range. I should have folded the river, and I wanted to. Some demon took over and made me call. He had QT.
