I never took the chips with me. But several times I had an irresistible urge to take the chair with me. Sometimes, such establishments have simply perfect chairs, without exaggeration, perfect.
I think having perfect chairs is essential for keeping customers in the place, don't you think? Imagine spending hours playing uncomfortably! Good luck to you!

I'm doing my research, but you can make a thread about it too, of course! I'll let you! lol JK! I've discovered a lot, it's a vast subject, so it will be enriching to see your thread too! Good luck this week, Sami! See you on the felt!

Well, if ever they let you take a chair once, next time you'll want to take one of the tables too :ROFLMAO:. Let's keep it at the chip level for now.

And he had a lot of them too. I can't say that I'm one of them, but I liked him enough though. He's kind of unique after all.

Yeah, so far, I've never been to a casino with wooden chairs.

I'm not sure if you can take them with you. I've never thought about it. But I don't think it would be a violation of any kind. Although, to be honest, I'd rather use the chips for playing than take them with me :)

I agree on the fact that it doesn't violate any law that I know of, especially if it's about a couple of chips. We're not talking about hundreds of them, in which case, cashing them would be more appropriate anyway.
As to the second part of your post, it could be that you suddenly needed to leave and the cashier was way farther than the exit, so exchanging your chips at the table for only 2 or 3 of a large denomination with the intention to use them at a later time doesn't seem inappropriate either.

That’s a good question, Sami! But I think it’s not allowed in most places. The thing is, you’re taking them on a temporary basis (in other words, renting them). You’re required to return them. However, if it’s a limited number of chips and you’re a regular at the casino, the managers might let you keep them as a souvenir, for example.

Good answer John (y).
But if you put 2 or 3 chips in your pocket and leave, regular or not, I don't think it would hurt anyone. They are of no use anyway except in that particular casino. You'll come back and use them another day.

If we’re talking about ‘next time’, I’d prefer to have cash with me. But if, for example, there’s a queue at the till and I know I’ll be back at this place tomorrow or in the next few days, I think I’d just take my chips with me.

I have always taken my chips with me if I was coming back, and always took a $1 chip if I wasn't.
I had a bunch of old chips when I joined CC, but I met someone here who was a collector and ended up sending them to him.
never heard of them being valuable, but had them from many places, including cruise ships, the Bahamas, and Jamaica.
still have a silver dollar my grandmother gave me when Vegas was cash, and we used to play in stores and gas stations.

But I think Chips belong to the casino, and you cant just leave with them because its not your property
I know you are just a puppy, but damn, there are two casinos near you. Take some of your winnings here, and visit
one just for the experience ;)

That's exactly what I was wondering about.
Is that permitted or you better do it without them knowing? which would be a violation.

Hey @maronza1

I think Jay is right. You really need to live that experience. It's so captivating and exciting. Those are probably the wrong words to describe it, but that's all I got right now.

You don't have to gamble or play anything. Just walk around. It's certainly a very fascinating "World" for whoever walks in for the 1st time.

It depends on the situation. If you really can’t exchange them quickly, your only option is to take them with you. Or perhaps you could bet everything on red....

That's another idea, well suited for gamblers ;):ROFLMAO:.
Normally, there are many cashiers, I don't think it could be hard to cash your chips, but in many casinos, they are located in one area, next to each other. It could be that you were playing at the other side of the building and you needed to leave right away. That's where my question comes. Keep the chips and use the closest exit or is that illegal?

Hi, Sami!
Actually, I decided to post about casino memorabilia because I discovered that there is a huge variety of collectible casino items. Take a look:
Have a great weekend and good luck!

I’d normally ask if it’s allowed before taking the chips home. But I reckon, as a souvenir, you can definitely take one :)

Cautious approach. Better safe than sorry.
Honestly, before this thread, I always thought there was nothing wrong with taking chips with you. If anything, you're the one losing. Instead of money in your pocket, you only have chips that have no value except in that particular casino.
