I would turn them to cash, because I could use them the way I wanted.

If it’s illegal to take casino chips out of the casino, then I have committed over a hundred crimes at over a hundred casinos…and there are thousands of casino chip collections on EBay, Etsy and other sites that are selling chips out there…criminals all.Emily Trott said:This is the first that I've ever heard of people getting in trouble for taking chips that they've bought/won with them when they leave the casino. If it is a place where I know that I'll be returning I generally will color up at the table and take them with me. Why wait in line at the cage, both coming and going. when you don't have to?
One caveat. Don't hold them for years because sometimes casinos will change the design of their chips. That means you can't use the ones you have at the tables, and it will be a real production switching them for the current style at the cage. I know this from personal experience.![]()

Emily, if you have casino chips that are no longer in use, or better still, from a casino that has been demolished, they have greater value. I collected mainly $1 chips, so most have a greater value to collectors than cashing at face value.
If I had time to go to the cashier, this thread wouldn't have existed.black and said:If I wanted to take the chips with me, I would just go to the cashier and ask if I could do that. But I think it's perfectly acceptable.
Yeah, it s really sad and unfortunate that the casinos thqt existed in Brazil have been closed.cwdignus said:My dream is to visit a casino. I'm from Brazil, and casinos are illegal there. It would be cool to be able to bring back a casino chip as a souvenir. I never imagined it would be illegal to bring back a casino chip as a souvenir.

Exactly what I thought. And I'm not even taking them with me because I want to (Cash is better), but I clearly explained that I had no choice kind of.bronwen777 said:ive taken cash chips home with me before. took them back and used them at the same casino again another time. dont think there's anything wrong with that, as long as they are cash chips and not just colour for a specific denomination at a specific table for example. u cant leave with those.
In that case, I really see no harm.skaterick said:i have a few $1 chips from local card rooms that are long gone ( just big indian casinos left in my area ). i enjoy the keepsakes .
That confirms what most of us think. Casino chips are useless except where they're issued.ratbat615 said:I live in Jamaica and I have seen someone with a $20 chip from Bellagio in Jamaica so it must be ok and people have them online selling.
