Online casinos have made casino games more accessible than ever. Whether you're from the Philippines, the US, Europe, or anywhere else, you can now play from your phone, anytime and anywhere.

But I'm curious:

Has easy access changed how people view online casinos?

Are they now seen as normal entertainment, or are people becoming more concerned about their accessibility?

🌍 How do people in your country perceive online casinos?

I don't think it has changed much at all. At least not in my country. Politicians (of course) want to make some noise about any subject they are "concerned" about, but normal people not so much.

you have a mix; younger people think of it as normal entertainment since it is always such an easy choice,
and older folks are worried about it being such an easy thing to get addicted to, like so many things today.

Unfortunately, most people here don't have a "positive perception" of any form of gambling (Including poker) even though gambling is everywhere!

In my country (Romania), most people view online casinos (actually gambling in general) as entertainment, similar to a hobby- a way to have some fun and relax* I've seen a stat recently that over 50% of the population have an online gambling account and/or some kind of App... still, the majority of this 'gamblers' play infrequently (a few times per month/year); while like members above mentioned, a significant portion of the public still see the entire gambling industry as a social problem * but tbh it's way better than when I've started playing ~2010...

You're right. It's more of a lip-service than genuine concern. Same politics here in the Philippines.

Our news outlet reported that it has become concerning that our politicians are now scrambling to pass legislation to curb the proliferation of online gambling. Ironically, our government remains actively involved in licensing several online gaming platforms.

Lol. Ironically, like you said, our high authorities have a bunch of gamblers who want to keep "gambling" among themselves. In fact, you can find them in casinos all over the world while many poker sites have been kicked out of the country, PS and 888 for instance.

I think online casinos can be fun, but it’s easy for entertainment to turn into a problem if you’re not careful.

Online gambling has boomed here since the regulation of certain gaming platforms, sparking a rush to “gamble”—made easier by cell phones, which are within reach of almost everyone… But gambling was recently banned, and people will have to get used to this new reality. We haven’t had brick-and-mortar casinos here since 1946, and online gambling is relatively new… What I see is a lack of a casino culture here; people simply aren’t prepared to gamble and often get into debt due to a lack of financial planning, which compromises their health and mental well-being… I believe in education to make people more aware of gambling as entertainment, but that takes a long time—perhaps even a few lifetimes… Good luck to you, Regie!
