You won $500 ticket to a tournament that you can play online or in a nearby casino.
Would you stay home or do you think you have a better chance playing live?

I would definitely play live, but only if the casino were nearby and the guarantee were the same. That said, having $500 in an online poker room often gives you many more options for playing.

True that $500 can give you so many options, but not this one. It's a ticket for one particular tournament that you can play online or at a few designated casinos, one of which happens to be in your city.
Let's say that there are a couple of day ones, then the final day would take place online.

I'd play live, too many distractions playing online. When you're at a live venue, you're stuck at your table, at home online there are so many other things that can distract you from the game.

I would do the same thing but for different reasons.

I would go without a second thought to live casino . At the end of the day, it's a $500 ticket you earned, so you're not risking your own entry money; it's the perfect opportunity to get the full experience.

Is it for fun with buddies or trying to make a living?
I enjoy a night out with buddies at a casino.
Trying to make a living, online might be the better choice.

Since I've never been to a physical casino, I'd definitely want to have that experience and play live at a real casino !
Good luck, Sami, and have a great weekend!

Not just for the experience. I think there's a better chance playing live (At least for me).

Well, a $500 buy-in tourney could be a nice opportunity to make a significant amount of money.
The question is: do you prefer to do it online or live?

And what an experience it could be! A $500 buy-in with a nice potential to win some money and celebrate that 1st try.
Best luck to you Diva in everything you do.

Yeeees! Thank you my friend! It would be an amazing experience in a environment I’ve only ever seen in movies—I used to imagine storylines and characters whenever I watched them! So I’d become one of those characters… maybe a Brazilian lady lost in Vegas with $500 to celebrate her first time at a casino! LOL! All the best to you too, Sami!

I'm surprised you never played live again.
From my experience, I can tell you it's much better. It's actually the real poker since it existed before the internet itself.
The only thing you might not like is the slow pace compared to the speed online.

I would definitely stay home and play online. Since I live far away from any casino, playing online is the most convenient and practical option for me.

Did you read the OP?
You are already at a casino.

If I won a $500 tournament ticket that I can use both online and live - I will always go for the live experience, especially if it's to a local/nearby Casino... tbh, as a recreational Casino player, my mentality is to have fun and forget about IRL stuff for a few hours* I don't care that much which gives higher chances to win (a few friends that are regulars/serious Casino players also believe there's a better chance to make profit live)... as I'm not that focused on results, while also not playing often - I would definitely jump to the occasion of continuing my session (if the $500 is won and can be used at the Casino we are* IMO it would also make sense to use the free stuff at the same location), while hoping for some good run to make some 💵 💵 💵

PS. Great topic as usual Sami 👍😎 and I wish everyone GLGL & HF 💲💰💸
