For me, the casino is more of a way to pass the time.
I used to play with bonuses, but honestly, even with bonuses it's not easy to win anything that really matters.
Ultimately, the house always gets the better of it, so it's more for fun than anything else.

I really wouldn't want to mix the two bankrolls...

I mean... I don't think it's a good idea to mix games that could potentially be EV+ or at least have a fair share with a win rate above 49%, like poker and possibly blackjack, with games that we know we'll lose in the long run!

I really prefer the idea of having different bankrolls with different goals... Long-term gain / fun!

Yeah, 100% separate for me.

My poker roll is my poker roll — I don’t touch it for casino stuff. If I feel like messing around in the casino, that comes out of a small fun budget I’m already okay with losing. Mixing the two is where people start making bad “it’s only a little” decisions.

As for Blackjack, I get why poker players gravitate to it, but I don’t think it really helps discipline that much. It still gives you that false sense that you can outplay the game, and that can be a dangerous mindset. Best way to look at it is poker = bankroll game, casino = entertainment. If I’m taking a break during a long grind, I’d rather play something small and controlled for a few minutes — definitely not go spin-crazy and torch half a session’s profit. Set the limit first, then have your fun.

I spend $50 a month on slots. I only have a bankroll for poker. And I spend the money I win at poker on slots. I can honestly say that if it weren't for poker, I definitely wouldn't play slots.
