Why go to a casino?

My local casino has a pretty good buffet and restaurant. Also they have bands play in the weekends.

For me, gambling is entertainment and I go to the casino when I have money for it. That is, when I have money for entertainment, I go to the casino. When I don't, I watch movies at home

I don't go to land based casinos . I play online , cause I can do this whenever I want , play the games I like , play the stakes that I can play . I think live casinos stakes must be over my budget .

I've only been in a live casino twice in my life. But I wanted to have a good time and get a thrill. And yes, I got them both times. Of course, my goal was to win some money, but I didn't succeed.

Nothing wrong with playing only online for BR reasons, but the topic here is going to a live casino without playing any game.

if you go with friends you will probably find plenty to do even if you don't wind up gambling . perhaps you might just hangout in the sportsbook , if one is available , and watch games .

Gambling is a disease.It's also worth noting that the casino operates under a license, which adds confidence in the fairness of the game. I don't have to worry about my money and can enjoy the process without worry.The chance of winning is already small, but people play.A casino that never paid anyone would make a profit in a week and close by the end of the month.

The casinos in my area are often having different 'free' entertainment events (not just music, for example stand-up comedy shows are quite popular too) - I'm mostly interested when there's a concert... I also went a few times with friends that were going to play and I was just there to hang out, it might be because I'm usually playing at this venues, but I always received free drinks/food even without spending money on any game...

Also, like other members said, the casinos are places with 'good vibes' - the staff is usually very professional and even when you end-up losing some money, you get a good entertainment experience out of it - if you have good bankroll management, IMO as a recreational live casino player you'll never feel like a loser * you'll have winning/losing sessions, but with with all the free things you get, this will always be a +EV place to spend your time and money

It's been a long time!!
Great reply, many good points. I'm just surprised by the fact that you can get free food and drinks without playing. In most casinos I've been to, you only get free drinks when playing at a table game or slots. You also accumulate points that you can use for food if you want, plus other comps.
Do all casinos in Romania operate that way?

I didn't check this info anywhere and I'm a recreational player that usually goes like 1-2 times/month... maybe it was because I usually play or someone in my group always did... my friends too - we've all thought that free drinks and food (we mostly go for some beer and snacks), are commonly available even without playing - it might be that the staff already knows us and we are usually generous with our tips, especially after winning sessions

I always read them even if I'm not posting - lots of things to learn and it's interesting to see what other community members think and/or experienced in their local casinos

What I liked about going there was the buffet and I could walk there, it was 5 blocks from my house, unfortunately they closed it.
