If I have the chance to enjoy a beer while playing, I definitely do.
Does it affect my game? Probably depends on how much you drink and how quickly.
I like to stretch the pleasure out over time, so for me — it doesn’t really get in the way.

Yeah, I’ve definitely made some braver (and not in a good way) decisions after a couple of drinks. In the moment it felt like confidence—looking back, it was just loosened discipline. Poker rewards patience and clear thinking, and alcohol tends to chip away at both.

I am not sure we would have poker if it weren't for alcohol.

Think of every western movie saloon scene. Poker, booze, prostitutes, guns , tobacco and pianos . But they shot too many pianists so they had to invent the player piano.
Now we got AI for the music.

Drugs replaced tobacco.

Robots are putting the prostitutes out on the street. (pardon the double entendre lol)

They are definately trying to get rid of guns.

All we have left is booze and poker .

Luckily no, I never play while drinking. For me, poker needs a clear head — otherwise it’s just gambling. But I do enjoy smoking a cigar at the table
