I think all the aspects which did not support your a game are not good. Such a example is alcohol. Because of alcohol your mood could be bad for normal decisions. And if you play more loose you lost more hands.

For me I don't think drinking alcohol and playing poker is a good idea because poker is all about making the right decision at the right time.

No, I have never had this. For the last 5 and a half years, I have not consumed alcohol at all and I am very happy about it. Before, when I allowed myself to drink alcohol, I played poker only when I could control my condition and fully give thought to my actions. In those moments when I drank more than the norm and could not control myself, I did not gamble for money and poker in particular. Alcohol relaxes and adds courage, but even under its influence you can control yourself and not do stupid things if you drink within the norm. In general, alcohol is evil, from the moment I stopped drinking it, I realized this. I like to be sober and sane all the time, which I wish for everyone else.

Very good point, and alcohol can contribute to being tired. :)

I almost never drink alcoholic drinks, as it is very unhealthy and too high addiction. Sometimes I could afford light beer and no more than 1 liter a week. But lately I don't even drink beer. Yes, on New Year holidays I will drink some champagne (or red wine) and add 2 extra 0.33 liter cans of elite lager. But at the same time I don't plan to play poker after alcohol.

The truth is that I don't know, I have lost and won with alcohol but I don't know if that's exactly why.

It's not my favorite practice to do this combination of poker and alcohol. But I believe that for some people it can help to relax anxiety when playing.

Played a 100 person tourney in Belize City, top 3 get 2500 buy in to the finale. I was the only one drinking. Made the top 3. I had a great time. And I didn't have to learn any new languages. Bhahahahaha.

I often drink beer during the game, but somehow I manage to control myself without any problems and not spend more than I can afford. Although, I remember in my youth I repeatedly lost my salary playing slots while drunk.

Alcohol and poker often create a risky combination, as alcohol can impair judgment, reduce focus, and lead to impulsive decisions that negatively affect gameplay. While some players may use alcohol to relax or ease nerves, it can also lower inhibitions, making them more prone to over-betting, bluffing unnecessarily, or failing to properly read opponents. Serious poker players typically avoid drinking during sessions, as staying sharp, focused, and disciplined is critical for long-term success. For recreational players, moderate drinking might enhance enjoyment, but it’s important to set limits and remain aware of its potential effects. Professional players understand that poker is a game of mental endurance and skill, so maintaining a clear mind is a priority. Drinking while playing often turns profitable players into losing ones, especially in online games where focus is even more crucial. Responsible consumption is key, and many experienced players recommend saving celebrations for after a session rather than during gameplay to ensure maximum performance and control.

Hi :)
I always drink alcohol in moderation. And I never gamble while drinking alcohol. First of all, it's not reasonable. Secondly, it's much more interesting to talk to friends or family while drinking alcohol than to sit at the PC and play poker :)

It depends on the stakes & ones ability to always play tight.

More than often your ability to fold pre or post flop with a min investment is seen as a weakness to the table bullies. When you got em it's easy to slow play them till after the river & leave them wondering "what just happened?".
