All in Maniacs

Yesterday I was at a table with one of those all in maniacs. Every hand he went all in. With trash hands.

So, he went all in once and it was folded to me. The maniac was sitting to my left. I had AK and thought this was my time to get him. Because I was sure he had a trash hand.

I put all my chips in and was expecting to double up. The mainiac turned up his hole cards and I was right. He had trash. J8. Great.

Flop. no help to either player. 4th street. NO help. 5th street. He hits a frigging J. Giving him a pair of jacks. And me with just the AK.

I needed an A or K to survive. Along came the River and not help to me.

I went to the rail. Got sucked out. Some times those maniacs get luck.

oh well. That poker.

Nothing pisses be off more than a damn donkey who goes all in on every single hand. I was just beat by a guy who went all in six times in a row and won 5 out of 6 without a single face card. I called his all in With A K suited and lost to his poket 6s. I waited to play in that tournament all night and when a donk comes on there who is not serious about it and does that it drives me nuts. Sites should monitor all in % calls and kick the idiots off who aren't doing anything but pissing people like me off.:thumpdown

I only just noticed that one sentence which has me baffled. Does that mean, if he had been going all-in with Paint/anything you'd have been less riled? I'm not a huge fan of all-in from any position all the time bullying but...

There are a bunch of worthy hands that don't contain face cards. Do I agree with the mega-risky all-in or nothing raise? It's usually not for me, but if my chips slip out from under me or I'm short stacked, heck then I'll scramble with that move, and usually get busted in a coin flip type situation.

I'm just thinking that face + anything = great card with crappy kicker or crappy card with great kicker. Well, unless the anything just happens to be nine or better and hopefully suited.

You have these people in any freeroll. On FT sometimes there are 5-6 people all in on the first hand. I'm afraid that I'm going to be right in there with them if I have any sort of drawing hand. In fact, I've quadrupled up with AA in those circumstances. If I had real money invested I'd think twice.

These people do irritate you but theirs is a valid strategy (not a good one) for playing. A lot of people will lay down early in a MTT even with decent starting hand when someone goes all in. In fact if there is someone doing it at my table I have to think twice about even trying to enter the pot before them.

What is nice, is that these people are like an atm when you do get a hand. You just have to let them do the betting by limping in and calling their all in. Granted you could lose but that can happen with any hand. If you get all your chips in with the best hand then over time you will come out on top. But as you see you won't win all the time. I would guess that if you checked back later this guy would be gone.

All in Maniacs

Yep,

Played in a FR last nite, and sure enough, I there was an all in maniac sitting two down on my left.

Jeez, they really restrict play. You just know they are going all in and it keeps me from making a reasonable bet or a reasonable call.

Finally finished about 205th. Could not hit any cards.

I would have to say that you probably had about a 40% chance of an ace or a king coming up on the flop and much less after that. Pocket 6's may not be a great hand to go all in on but sometimes you gotta take a chance.

Before the flop, pocket 6s are statistically more likely to win than AK.

It wasn't exactly a bad beat.

AK suited surely is not to bad, but don't you think, u called just a little bit loose, because you slightly got tilt.
After all the better hand has won the coin flip...

I saw this post a couple of days ago and ignored it. But after my last heads up on Joker Stars, I felt compelled to post.

1st 4 hands of a heads up tourney - the idiot goes all in everytime. I folded out even with good hands. He did it again on the 5th hand. I called with AK - A great hand in heads up. He had 6,3 offsuit. Hit a 3 on the river...

I understand your frustration.

I too love these idiots normally. And almost always pick up their $...but in doing so, you will eventually hit the Joker Stars wall and get donked.

I can live with getting donked every now and then as long as I pick up the dough over the long haul.

Hmm, apparently it's MUCH easier to call the
opposition "moron's", "idiots" and "donkeys"
than it is to outplay them.........

Yes guys like him are all over the poker rooms....Sooner or later they all end up giving their stack to someone more serious...The only thing that matters is to be the one who receives their stack;)

You're right, but you can only HOPE to be the one getting his stack. YOu see it all the time at cash tables. An all-in maniac gets lucky. There are 3 or 4 good players there. They don't diss him. They tell him nice hand, stroke him to keep playing that way. Usually one of the these guys end up with his stack or a good part of it, but you can't force it. You know he's not going to fold - so you just have to wait for a hand that will win a showdown.

These guys always give it away (except for the rare smart one who hits and runs), so just be patient.

Multi Games

We tend to forget sometimes that some of these players that make these type calls or go all in on marginal or poor hands or make dumb calls hoping to get lucky, are playing multi games.

And, they takes these risk to get a big stack or get busted out. Only to go to the next game.

I read some where that a fellow was playing over 20 or so games at one time.

The poker site took him to task for it, thinking he was using "bots".

However, he proved to the sites satisfaction that he was playing these multi games with out the use of "bots.

Dont Know how true it it. But, did read it some where.

I personally know players who play 4 to six game at once.

As for me, I am lucky to play one game. Much less that several. haha

Fact that I am 70 years of age may have something to do with it.

LMAO

^^Well I applaud you for using your computer for something other than MS Solitaire. My mom's not even your age, but she's creeping towards it, and she has a thousand dollar solitaire machine. It's nuts, she's got a huge hard drive and a ton of ram, and all she ever does is play solitaire. I tried to explain that her auto-biography(and how sure of herself is she that she thinks anyone wants to read it?) doesn't need that much storage or ram but oh no, she couldn't wait for me and got right on the phone to get the hard sell from someone in India.

Anyway, it's not just multi-tablers. Some folks really don't care, because it's not real money. That's what drives me batty. People who don't want to play for real because it's play money or a freeroll. I feel like they're wasting a seat. But who am I to judge?

I would just sit back wait and play only big hands for like the first hour thats usually how long it takes for donkeys to go out. But in that situation i would probably call all th time if he kept going all in but really he had the best hand and won. Donkeys r apart of oline poker so get use to it or stick to live

One player was Hevad Kahn "RainKain" who was reported to have played 40 tables at a time and had his account blocked until PokerStars received a videotape of him actually playing those tables.

I don't see how they do it, 4 tables overtaxes my concentration, at any rate I saw a youtube video of him doing it and he plays automatically because it happens so fast.

All in Maniacs

Hey,

I know the "all inner" are a pain. But, being patience and wait for a hand, they can get busted.

I have started out with a double up many times for the "all inners" and, also, have been put out of the game many time by them also.

But, the reason I write this reply is to say that there is a player worst and more of a pain the the "all in" crowd. And they are the "play and raise every hand bunch". Jeez, they can restrict a players play.

And, when one of those type players get lucky they can make ones life miserable. (don't know if that is spelled right haha)

Other day I was playing one of the guys or gals. And, hit pocket KKs.
So, I got him now. He raises and I reraise. He goes all in. I'm thinking and almost sure from the gut, that he has rags.

Well, when we showed our cards, I was proven right. He had rags.

J8 of.

Well, bottom line in, he hit a staight and beat my KKs up. haha

But, thats poker. No prop.

tc, and cya on the felts. :) :) :)

First off a site will not kick somebody off just for going all in every hand. It is poker everyone is allowed to play their hand how they want to. If you want to avoid this I would suggest not playing in public freerolls. Or making a deposit and playing some real games.

I agree

I aggree that it's frustrating but I usually wait for pocket pairs over 7's to call an all-in in the beginning of a tourney but yes, once those types get money it's almost maddening....Jane

We've all been there, frustrating as hell, but here is what I do, I use the time clock down to the last second to slow the pace of the game, change the rhythm, if you’re there for the long haul a few wasted rounds won't make that big of a deal, besides keeps me from tilting, and after he's gone if someone yells at me for slowing the game, I just apologize and tell them I had to change the rhythm, if he can play his games, I can play mine!

Thats why at every Tourney I dont play a hand usualytill about 10 15 minutes in which usually allows them to know them selves out before I stupidly play a hand against on of them

I'm not saying you have to play from the start but...

You can make a lot of chips limping with good starting hands. You can also play a wider assortment of starting hands with all that limping. This is in the first rounds when it can be cheap to see a flop. Not every table features a hyper-aggressive, all-in, maniac or two. But even when they do, ya gotta bite the bullet sometimes and call their crazy raise. Just don't be shocked regardless of who wins.

Yeh sometimes they are annoying, but poker when in its element (with people like that) is a patience game, sure every so often luck lets them win, but u have the opportunity to CHOOSE when to double up.. you have control, u can wait for a monster every time! just gotta hope the hand u choose he didnt luck out aswell... i find them to be a bonus more than a menace...

Yah i really hate them and normally sit out untill i hit big or they got bi bi.. I love how people who play like this think they are good players because they have more chips than every1 and think that they can out play anyone like a pro...just wait untill its online and its much harder to go all in everyhand playing live ^^.
