I’m new to tournaments. Yesterday I was in 520 field tourney. 66 left and 63 get paid. I’m UTG with 5BB, I look down at AQo, best hand I’d seen in a while hence only 5BB. I push get called by AKo (obviously). Question would it have been better to fold maybe into the money or push as I did. Just asking. Thx

can a player in a bad mood play poker achieve good results or is it better to play in a good mood

I think because I played poker in my first year of playing, I still play now, 20 years later I even won more in the beginning, it means that poker can be learned throughout life.

Hi Ashley 🙂

I would like to play once live but then i think of the buy ins , my gambling bankroll is very limited . My question is what is the minimum buy in for the cheapest live cash game in a casino or poker room ???

Thank you

Hi Ashley, I would like you to tell me how do you make a good bluff when you feel you have the bigger hand and try to bait your opponent on live poker.

Thanks in advance

Hey Ashley🙂!

Is this year's WSOP an issue for you as it is for our 'CC hope Debi' ?
https://www.cardschat.com/forum/get...is-summer-vegas-trip-2023-526747/post-6721023

If so, what does your program look like? Which tournaments will you participate in?

Because if there's a chance you and Debi could meet in a tournament, we need to know about it!

But since it's only too understandable that we won't hear from you again until after the WSOP, we're rooting for you and wish "good succeed" !
Maybe you'll find the time and post your program...

Hi Ashley! I would like to know if you always strictly follow the poker strategy in the game? Or do you sometimes give in to your intuition. I very often have cases in the game when I understand that it is necessary to make a raise, but under the pressure of intuition I make a call or even fold. Often these decisions are correct . Or still I need to always follow the chosen strategy. In general, intuitive decisions are good against an opponent's bluff.

Do you VLOG every tournament/session you play? If not, do you notice differences in how you play when you are recording content for the VLOG vs. just playing? It seems like on the VLOG you take a lot of chances and try a lot of bluffs. I've also noticed this from other VLOGers, like Rampage, and it makes me think the desire to create exciting content for the VLOG may impact your decisions.

Hi Ashley, I hope you are well.

I play micro stack MTTs and would like to know if it is really beneficial to use Nash's push or fold chart when I'm 10bb and under.

Thank you!

Hi Ashley,

I would love to play in vegas at some point, but feel I would struggle to justify (or even raise) the buy in. Is there anything you would recommend for this situation?

Thanks ✌🏼

hello, how best to start and what to cash or tournaments if you haven’t played for a long time

Good afternoon! Ashley, how often do you enter the target tournament through satellites or do you always enter the tournament directly?

Hi Ashley, how are you? I would like to ask you how you know when to press and when you know that you have to fold?

In your travels around the world in which country you have met good players?

turbo and hyper-turbo satellites...is it worth playing them?

Hello Ashley,

Are you playing any wsop live events this year? What is the best bankroll management if you want to play (lets say I have $50000 to play all summer )? Would you recommend the $500, $1000, $1500? or just use the $40000 for some low buy-ins events and let $10 000 for the Main?

PS: I'm not there this year but I plan to be next year. It's a dream of mine to compete in WSOP.

Hello, Ashley.
Could you recommend any training materials that are available for free to study? It is clear that everything can be found on the Internet, but perhaps you could recommend what exactly you consider worthy of attention?

hello Ashley

I've been playing poker for a few years now, but I've always played freeroll tournaments, especially those on Cardschat, my question is the following:

Do you think that just playing freerolls won't improve my game?

As far as possible, I'm always looking for content on the internet to improve my game, but just saying that I don't intend to become a professional, I just want to improve my game.

Grateful Cesar.

Do you have a second favourite No Limit poker game? I've played no limit Omaha games, and feel they work better as pot limit/limit games.

Thanks, nbg

Ashley, What are your "must haves" when you pack your backpack for a poker tournament, especially when it's a large field where there will be long lines for food and restrooms?

Hi, Ashley. I really like the poker lifestyle that you live)! Tell me please, in which country did you enjoy playing tournaments and cash games the most? In the future, I would like to try the same lifestyle as you, what are the main tips you could give me at the beginning of my poker journey?) I live in Ukraine, in a small town, I have been playing poker for 14 years, some part I've been playing live poker for a while, and some of the time I've played online poker. Poker has become a part of my life, but I have never done it professionally. I would be grateful for any advice.)

Best regards, Dmitry.

i usually use two sizes for this spot: 33% or 66%; you can go smaller on paired boards or monotone boards along with other rare exceptions

good bankroll management! any bankroll is good enough to start, even $0 if you don't mind playing freerolls. If you play online, you can work your way up from any stake. 🙂

I would play $1-$2 tournaments online or freerolls on this bankroll.

Not this year! I would only make bracelet bets if I was a mixed game player. The variance of multiple-thousands of player No-limit fields is too high to make a good bet IMO

depends on the payout structure of the tournament. If the payouts are pretty flat until the final table, after the bubble bursts you want to play a style that allows you to amass a huge chip stack to give yourself a good chance of winning. If the payouts gradually jump in significant ways, you can play a little tighter.

im unfamiliar with the term 'compressed ranges'. i think you're referring to when our opponent's have a pretty narrow range of hands: i.e. utg opens, utg1 3bets and utg 4bets....the utg player has a pretty narrow range of hands here. if this is what you're referring to, all it does is help you hand read postflop. If you've narrowed down what they could have based on preflop action, postflop handreading is much simpler. So the only real impact that has is how you'll play the hand post.

hi! i like midstakes tournaments where you have a healthy mix of recreational and professional players. they're fun and challenging at the same time 🙂 my other diversions: making YouTube videos, hiking w my doggos, yoga and travelling to new places! thanks for your questions !

I'm mostly learning poker from Jesse, GTOWizard software and online training videos on sites like Run It Once. The poker books I've read are more about specialty poker topics like Dara O'Kearney's "End Game Strategy" and satellite strategy books. I also love the Mental Game of Poker books (which is helpful if you have any tilt problems or confidence issues, etc.)

It sounds like you're playing a good strategy and might just be running bad. If you're new to tournaments, I would check out software like Floptimal and study how to play shorter stacks. Cash game players tend to play too many hands when they get short-stacked or play too conservatively with shoving ranges because they're used to playing deep stacked.
good luck with the switch! tournaments are so much fun once you get the hang of it 😉
Hi Ashley thanks for your answer and recommendations.
I have another questions what is the tournament that you don’t forget? And why?
Thanks for your answer.

Congrats on your finish in the Tag Team event. I liked how you swapped in and out based on each player's strengths. You're really good at the short stack shove/fold game, and he was good at taking advantage of soft play near the bubble and at the end of the day. Got unlucky at the end, but it was fun to watch your deep run.
