I like to play marginal hand sometimes just to bluff I think I'll play like I have Aces some times I get cut and this might work for my opponents thinks I'm crazy and then pay me more with worst hands

My excuse would be this ...... I call with 4 10 off, because my daughter was born on April 10.
Whats yours?
The excuse that I personally have for playing with marginal hands is that when I don't win with the good cards I start to expand my range of hands and play suiteds and marginal connector-type hands from late positions, I only do it in turbos tournaments more than anything and sometimes I run with the luck to tie something on the board or other times I turn my hand into a bluff and I have also had to fail.

Evey hand can be played. The odds are changing. Odds are not an order, they are maths, a calculation. If you play a minimum odds hand it doesn 't means it will not win but it means that there are less possibilities to win. This means that you can win with minimum odds hands!

My excuse.. I keep losing to suck-out hands time to open my range! Then, I bemoan my bad luck when my 5 6 offsuit just misses a straight.

i play marginal hands sometimes simply to keep my game not super predictable. if you only ever raise or call with the goods then you are more predictable. ALSO super fun to hit bottom 2 pair on someone with rockets. happens to me enough haha

8,9

Somebody once played 8,9 and when the river showed a 10 he made a straight and went all in. However, I had KQ and the flop already had a J and a 9. I used to play marginal hands but sometimes......not all the time but sometimes...….it can be dangerous. Good Luck!:D

My excuse for playing T4o would be that I was in the small blind in an MTT with 6 big blinds or less, antes in play, and everyone folded to me. In which case I would shove.

When your short stack, you have to play alot of marginal hands. You have no choice, especially if the blinds are high.

You got a 4X bet then a call and a call this is when I like to play hands like 57 or 68 and low pairs because I feel the other 3 are probably playing big cards and with the right flop I may make some chips. Now to do this I have to have a good stack because if you lose a couple of these it can be very costly. Its best to do this when you have tight players too.
I agree with you, of course, if you have enough chips, otherwise it is very bad.

I don’t have a lot of chips in a tournament and the blinds eat.

I am not THAT undisciplined to play something like T4 offsuit. So I do not have such excuses.
Sometimes I play weak hand ust because many players have went in before me and in the rare case I get nuts, there will be a great reward from those players.

I have rules to play marginale hands like 2-3 suited: I have to be late position with multi players (5 and up) and I am having a losing session. If I hit my hand I am sure to drag a killer pot and at least get even

Sometimes marginal hands are very well played and you can break a huge pot.

Today I've been seriously card dead. I took part in a deep stack tournament and only had 2 decent hands that went to the flop. In the end the blinds caught up with me after 2 hours. I ended up being like "ooh a face card, time to shove." It obviously didn't go well but that was my justification.

I play from time to time, because something interesting should come in sometime. Sometimes it's a hand like this that allows you to win something, because no one expects someone to come in with such a hand.

I find sometimes you have to play, marginal hands to make it farther in tournaments. Only cause when I first started playing poker. I have blinded out of so many tournaments , just waiting for those strong hands. After waiting for those strong hands , only to be knocked out a marginal hand. So sometimes what you feel you need to play , just need to play it.

I totally agree with this person. You have to widen your range when you're short-stacked, and your only options are Shove or Fold. If you're waiting for a monster hand, most of the time, by time you get them, and if you do double up, you're not really any further ahead.

As for playing marginal hands, generally speaking, they can sometimes be the easiest hands to play. I'm not talking about T4 here, that's not a marginal hand. Anyhow, if you do hit the flop pretty hard, depending on your opponent, they might pay you off. However, if the flop doesnt hit you, it's easy to fold your hand, unless you want to turn it into a bluff.

You need to go into the hand with a plan as to how you are going to play the hand, just like you would with a big hand. Knowing the table dynamic, the kinds of hands your opponents are likely to play, how they bet on all streets, pre and post-flop. If you don't give yourself these tools to play, it's like going to a gun fight without a weapon.

opinion

For some time now, I stopped playing marginal hands. The reason is simple - it is a negative action at a distance. Plus, if you're lucky enough to win with a marginal hand a couple of times, it easily becomes a habit and you start playing all sorts of rubbish.

Nothing else is hitting lol. When there's multiple tight players in the hand I'll play them too, better chance most of the premium cards are already in their hands and mine will hit the board 😅
