I play marginal hands to defend BB with like 4 people calling behind. Any semi-suited connectors that can become the nuts like 75 suited. Though this burned me yesterday to a higher flush yesterday...

Got all in for about $4 earlier today in a .05 and .10 game with KJ clubs pre witch I think isn't totally marginal made trip Js and
won and got cussed and ridiculed by one of the other two in the hand who won the 2nd pot with AK off Im sure I would have been disappointed too

I play these hands to try and throw off the people I'm playing against. I don't want them to get a read on me about the strength of my hand. I want people to think that I'm capable of playing any hand in any position. I want them to ask themselves if the flop hit my hand or not?

everytime you can get a marginal hand around uncontested, its like picking up KK (appox 5bb). Find the right spots, its like picking up KK every couple of orbits. These marginal hands are your survival for that late game trying to get to the final tables. Ever say to yourself I should open here cause of the spot and then you dont and folds around and its like DAMN!!! PULL THAT TRIGGER SOMETIMES

I often jump in with those.

My brain convince me mathematically, Like i'd still have chances with a marginal hand, but then maths says that I've lost more than I've won.

As for me there is a certain range of starting hands, of course it varies depending on the table. Playing marginal hands was relevant for me at the very beginning, at the stage of getting to know the game and trying to outplay others, but this did not lead to anything good.

Skill is important in this game.

I think your rite on this a lot of times but if the timing gets off it mostly ends things quickly, I guess the same could be said for AA too so there you go

Yesterday I played a tournament, where absolutely all the hands that were folded (42, 27, 28 ....) but in the distribution always arrived, no kidding, 100% of trips, full houses and so on. As soon as I entered the distribution, nothing arrived. And so very often, can this be due to the fact that recently I took 4th place and got into the prizes?
