Disagree completely. But then it was never about the money even 20+ years when it was some of the easiest money in the world to make. The dummies would just throw it you lol. To me it was always about the competition and enjoyment of playing. But then I also enjoy my day job, I'm very good at it and it provides plenty enough money to keep me happy.

If it was about the money I would have not played so many MTT's over the years and would have played above100nl not stuck to 2nl-50nl cash.

I always thought the magical part of online poker was being able to make money come out of nowhere through free rolls, add up the small winnings and try to win in bigger tournaments, I've already achieved 1k winnings in a week starting from zero in free rolls, of course it took me a long time to learn how to play and win without investment, cardschat helped me throughout the process

I don't have post-game depression. For example, I won our Silver Daily on Sunday, and yesterday I finished 13th in a $500 guaranteed tournament among more than 2,400 players. Today I won a $109 buy-in ticket on PokerStars. I aim for a win in every tournament. But I promised myself that after the end of the war I will definitely take a week's vacation and go to Amsterdam with the money I earn on poker.

Personally, I haven't had such impressive victories that I've had post-game depression. Although, to be honest, I wouldn't mind such a depression

And yes, you're right, you can never have too much money, no matter how much you win or earn.

What is there to do besides some boat tours through the canals, a bunch of world famous museums, some very pretty women selling their body and providing a clean safe place for that, and maybe some coffee shops with very potent marijuana and hash to smoke before you tour the Heineken factory.

In response to the title: it is a basic bad human trait to always need more and more: see the billionaires who have so much money that they shouldn't do anything in life, just relax, but they don't.
However, what you wrote afterwards may not be uniformly true for everyone: some people are spurred on to even better results, and some are pushed into depression because they feel pressured to know when they will be able to achieve the same thing again.

To be honest yes money does make the world go around.

But Happiness, Health, Family and loved ones are way more important.

So anyone who is feeling down and depressed due to poker should take a break and focus on what's important as mentioned above.

Yeah most hobbies and things I do are simply for the competition part of it. Another part of the reason I've stuck mainly to lower stakes all these years is under 50nl cash there really isn't much of concern of seeing a lot of cheating or bots. Once you get to 100nl that's where one can start making a decent amount of cash and hence where the most cheating starts. And now with Pokerstars player pool being a lot smaller then the 300k+ I've been use to for years and years any new accounts and players stand out like sore thumbs.

I do and have always played lower, med and higher stakes MTT's though. I think it's a lot harder to cheat in them and otherwise collude with the random all random table draws.

With all that said this time around when I reach 5k for a bankroll I'll likely step up and give 100nl a longer term shot just to see how it goes. Doing bankroll challenges and reaching 5k+ is losing it's feel as a challenge.

The prospect is appealing because of the desire for fame and to see your face on TV, but what most people are drawn to in poker in the first place is the opportunity to become filthy rich, with virtually no effort, doing what you love.The good news is that in tournaments, you don't have to be the best player in the world to take first place either. Sure, you need to know the basic strategy, but you can also get lucky and potentially make some life-changing money.

I actually think that everyone from Community should come to Amsterdam and have a relaxing vacation! Maybe even play poker in a club somewhere together! I will definitely mention this later, as I will be bored alone in Amsterdam.
