Luck is also very important. Just by watching the Main Event final table ( 2025), you can see Leo Margets was vey unlucky in several spots and Mizrachi was very very lucky in a few important spots.

Of course I believe in luck at the poker table, on a good day, anyone with luck can win against professional poker players. But usually in the long run, you need a lot more skills than just luck to be a successful player.

Yes, luck definitely plays a role in poker — that’s a fact.
But relying only on luck is a bad idea. It’s very rare when everything just goes your way and the cards actually hit.
And sometimes it’s the opposite — you keep getting strong hands, but still get outdrawn again and again.
So yes, poker has both luck… and bad luck too!

Statistics say we can be losing with kk vs aa 3 times in a row
Then kk vs j10 78s we lose as well
Upswing and downswings statistically accurate and simulation approved

Bad Luck states it can be us losing with kk vs aa 3 times in a row
Then kk vs j10 78s
Or good luck can be in reverse
Statistically understood and incorporated into stats.....

A little bit of both. You can implement the best strategy, but without luck, you won't win.

On the other hand, I've seen a lot of players in this community who rely solely on luck to win. The problem is that, in the long run, they end up losing.

Luck is necessary to win, but it's not essential for long-term results.

While strategy is essential, but not necessary, to win in some tournaments.

Luck is a very big part no?
You can have pocket aces but lose against everthing above pair ( excluded aces 😜)
The amount for deck shuffling is enormous in the way no deck shuffle has ever been the same ... There is no strategy in how to read a deck unfolds
You can watch how players play and see their "tics" and read them but

For me, online poker is 50% skill and 50% luck. I have been playing poker for almost 10 years and I believe in both skill and luck. If you ask me if you need skills to play, I will tell you that skills are necessary, but I can also tell you the same about luck.

If you ask like that it sounds luck and only luck because your info on choices is...no info at all. However, statistics may be a reference nevertheless.
