Poker is much more than luck or statistics; it’s about moments, decisions, and context. Sometimes you have to go against the statistics to win, taking risks based on the situation. The more you learn about poker, the more you realize how complex it is and how little you actually know

You can't avoid luck, its there or its not.
Play style and strategy is all on you. Play about try a few things out you'll find you path. Or you can be like a fly and be random.
Good luck.

i think that. at low levels, luck plays an important role.
That role diminishes as one climbs the ladder
At top players, it almost vanishes

In my opinion, the idea of luck at the poker table is a little complicated. In general poker is a game of skill, tactics and psychology. But there are certainly aspects where chance is involved. For instance, you have no control over the cards you are dealt, the timing of bets or the way the community cards fall. So in that sense, luck is involved in the outcome of any single hand or session. Nevertheless, talent is more important in the long term.

A talented player is able to read their opponents, manage risk, make well thought out choices and take advantage of circumstances where fortune may be on their side. While luck might grant you a nice hand or a fortunate river card, its the strategic choices you make that will decide if you can make the most of it, turning good luck into a productive session.

Well, as many of us know, to achieve a good result, we'll need to win a lot of coin flips throughout the tournament, and be lucky against bad beats.
I don't believe it's a game of luck because practically 90% of the game is under our control, so we have a very large margin to avoid exposing ourselves to complicated spots... or even before that becomes necessary (this exposure).
So, everything depends on the player's considerations. I myself, for example, have a friend who can't under any circumstances consider that the game isn't 100% luck.
One thing that helps understand this, which even happens to this friend, is to study the game, study the situations, and so on.
We study and thus avoid crazy plays that might depend solely on luck.
For example, seeing a lot of flops, with any hand, drains our chips, so we need to play according to a certain range of hands. Just because it's cheap to see the flop doesn't mean we're going to try our luck... lol

I think you need to have a strategy before you can rely on luck. However, you can't rely on luck first and then apply strategy.

Yeah, I do. Skill sets the foundation, but luck decides the short-term swings. The real trick is staying cool no matter which side of luck you're on.

Luck then statistics.

The odd of any 1 player being dealt AA is less than 1%. The odds of busting those AA is about 15%.

If you bust the AA some will say you are lucky…(which may be true) but wasn’t the other player lucky to have been dealt AA to begin with?

Yes, luck is very real at the poker table, but it’s not the whole story. The best players don’t rely on luck—they manage it.

Luck at the poker tables will always exist, even in one session, but over time, over many sessions, luck will decrease.

Which is it?

Luck or statistics
The way I see it, poker is roughly 80% strategy and 20% luck — maybe even more luck at times. You just can’t win without it.

Yeah, I do believe in luck at the table, at least in the short term. Sometimes you play a hand perfectly and still lose to a crazy river card at’s just poker. But over the long run, skill starts to matter way more. Luck decides single hands, skill decides your bankroll.

Poker is attractive because the game is not only skill, but also luck, the main thing is not to believe in conspiracy theories
