It's crazy how many people been debating a question that isn't debatable. There are literally a few hundred of people that gave answer without even needing to know what the word sport means

Poker isn't a sport, but a game. I mean, you're sitting down the whole time.

I've never understood the push by some players to have it classified as a sport (and in the Olympics!).

I think it's a sport, if you can call it darts, then it's poker, you have to be there in your mind and in your head, you have to concentrate and you have opponents.

It is a sport.. In every sports you need good skill as well as good luck.. I see it as a great indoor game and in a lot of countries it is considered as a sport

of course yes, it is a mental sport, just like chess. only that there is the random factor in the deal of cards, but then it is all mental and you want great skill and training to be a really good player. regards

Yes Poker is a sport and it's a game of skill, but many amateur and non poker players thinking poker as a gambling. obviously luck also matter. Like skill:70% , Luck:30%

When you are sitting at the table playing poker both online and offline and you develop adrenaline from the game - then this is a sport!

I agree that poker and chess are not sports, however auto racing is definitely a sport. Auto racing is very physically demanding, requires great skill and is performed in front of others for entertainment. Auto racing checks all of the boxes required to call it a sport.
