Sometimes I turn on music while playing for the background. But most of my working TV. It does not matter what it shows. During the game, it is impossible to focus on watching TV. I do not like the silence and so I need that would be something to fill the emptiness in my ears. But all the attention is fixed on poker. Even in those moments when the game gets me hits

I go through different phases of what I have in the background and it can change from day to day.
Mostly I listen to a playlist that is marked Poker. It has all sorts of up beat songs with a common theme of winning and successfully getting to the top. I normally put these songs on to get my pumped up before hitting the tables hard.

I also am in the school of thought that it is unnecessary noise. You want to be able to focus on everything from the twitch of an eye, to breathing patterns. That could be the difference of winning and losing on a particular night
