I play one or two days per week. Only for fun and tourneys with very small buy-in.

It's boring to play every day. I play an average of 3-4 days a week, but in general it all depends on the mood.

If you play poker every day, what are the pros and cons of playing poker every day?

I play pretty much every day.
I'll typically play the CC platinum games.
In addition, I will play Spins, Neymar KO, Single table SNGs, some MTT SNGs...Sunday Storm Sattie's, KO and Bounty Builders....plus any freerolls.
The Sunday Storm is the biggest game I'll pay full entry for, not including my weekly poker-club home game (which is 5.50GBP online or 10GBP live). Otherwise, it's all micros.
Mostly tourneys...rarely cash.

Pros -- I don't think there are big pros other than I like to play poker...so doing what you like is good for the soul.

Cons -- It can interfere with other things. For example, sometimes you can run very deep and a quick game turns into several hours of play... For this reason, I tend to miss a lot of the CC freerolls (or just shove in the first three hands and get out if I'm disadvantaged).

Playing too often at low stakes, especially after winning a decent amount, can lead to some poor play. I find I will make more mistakes if I play too much or play without threatening the bankroll at least a little bit.

For instance. I had a bad week where I had made more than one deposit. This caused me to double-down and smarten-up. I followed it up with some wins that brought my bankroll back uo to circa $200. In the week that followed though, as I failed to withdraw some of those winnings, I played some pretty bad poker. Made far too many hero calls. And tried too many bluffs in poor spots which punished me further.

The other problem with playing everyday is that leaves not very much time for study/review.

The single most important thing you can do is review your play history and identify the places where you are leaking chips. You also need to understand whether the places you are winning chips were down to good play / good probability or whether you came up lucky (e.g. rivering a two-outer).

You also need time to review the play of your opponents -- at least the ones which you will see regularly. With a tool like PT4 or HM3, you can get a good view of whether they have any exploitable vulnerabilities. Playing everyday leaves little time for this.

Most pro players these days will suggest that you need some balance in your life with poker, where exercise, nutrition and positive mental health are important to maintaining positive poker health.

Not surprising though -- like most things in life...it is about finding the right balance which suits you and those you live with.

Cheers,
JT

Yes, I play poker everyday. It's a good thing to play everyday because it helps develop your skills and intuition. On the flip side, sometimes it can make you play impatiently and reckless at times.

I used to play everyday, however I stopped playing so much as it started becoming less fun since I played all the time. Now that I pretty much only play for fun and I want to play the games have become much more fun and enjoyable.

Good luck to all of you
Pros: -keeps your senses sharp like sword, your eyes keen like eagle
-more fun than Uno
-financial independence just around the corner
-bragging rights on Cardschat
Cons: -elevated risk of mental breakdowns
-dealing with table throwables
-growth of superstition and paranoia
-time constraints, due to fear of missing out of Cardschat freerolls

There are probably more, good or bad, but my voodoo doll told me to not reveal too much for now. :burnout:

A player can reach that stage if he is addicted to gambling, whether in poker or other games, and this is what I consider very dangerous. What I think is important to avoid this is to go back to the bankroll rules, respect them and implement them diligently.
So I see that playing daily or otherwise is not dangerous, just sometimes it is good to stop playing in the case of badbeat or to rest and regain focus

I play poker almost every day. I do occasionally take a day's break here and there if I'm not feeling quite up for playing.

As I play mostly in the evenings, if I've had a particularly long or tiring day, then I might not play as I find that my concentration will typically not be all there and my playing will suffer.

I don't want to play badly, get angry and then risk not enjoying playing and have it put me off. Although that said, I'm only really playing micro and freeroll at the moment so I'm not usually that concerned if I lose out. I'd likely start getting more annoyed at myself when I start playing higher stakes.

Let´s say I try to play more than I did in the last years. During the last months I played several times per week and I want to keep doing this because I found my passion again.

Yes, I try to play every day and learn something new! After all, theory is good, but practice will not replace anything.
