There is too much competition in poker to make it a profession. So for now, it's a hobby. Perhaps in a couple of years it will be possible to succeed in this.

being a pro takes a lot of time and money even good pros have losing streak and the good ones are smart with money and numbers I bet most if them don't even use their own money

Neither. It is a game/entertainment.
Some people play card games or puzzles or xbox or PS.
I play poker online or with friends whenever possible.

It's my jobby! I'm retired and living off a pension and I play poker to keep busy. I treat it like a job, even though I just make chump change.

Hobby vs. Job

It is a hobby for me, as a job playing poker minimum 50 hour work week. In anything in life that you want to be good at you must put in the time period. All these pros practice an insane amount of hours so if you want poker as a source of income get ready for some overtime Capo1014

Even though I have been playing for many years now, I still think of it as just a hobby. That brings some extra money from time to time

there was a time back in the day where it started to feel a little bit like a job, only because I was playing so much of the time. I had to take a big break, and now I only play once in a while and it feels more fun again

Hobby

For me poker is a hobby if you can call it that as I play online for entertainment period. Like playing at cash tables as seems to be less "Bingo" players there. Yes I know there is always that one player that pushes but by keeping good player notes makes it easier to take their money when I know I have the winning hand. I just let then keeping betting until the river and then push all in .

I see it as a job, because winning at poker gives me more money than my work salary. But how wonderful it would be to have work and have fun at the same time, as you do with your hobby.
