I definitely see poker as a viable method of obtaining a living wage.

Sadly, my Unites States of America Federal Government doesn't agree, and they made that fact abundantly clear on April 15, 2011.

In the past decade I've gone from anger to resignation over the loss of my freedom to play poker on whichever site I choose to play it on... I used to think America's government was sincere and honest and all that crap.... but over this past decade I've learned that America's government is exactly the opposite. They are corrupt, compromised, co-opted criminals and clowns. As useless as teats on a bull.

The next time you listen to that stupid national anthem, think of me when the song says "O'er the land of the free"... and then think of all those unthinking people following the orders of our MIS-leaders when the song ends with "And the home of the brave." Bullcrap. All I see are cowards in masks.

I suspect poker will only ever be a hobby for me. Of course, I would like for it to become something that I can live off, but I'm a long way from that situation right now.

In terms of income, it is a hobby.
In terms of time spent, it is more like a job.
Elements of both, and neither.

My question back at you is "Why do you ask?"
ie what is important about the distinction?

Until now I was never being able to keep a job, so I treat it as a hobby because the sooner I will treat it as a job Im gonna resign. This said, to all the them guys who play freerolls and are bragging as being professional poker players, I see you.
