You’re playing longer to “get even”
Marginal spots feel exhausting instead of interesting
You’re chasing action not EV
Wins don’t feel good and losses feel personal

I don't necessarily take a break around Christmas time, but I do take 2 - 4 weeks off from time to time. I do not play online while on vacation.

Actually, I don't have a set day for it; whenever I feel I should take a break, I do it, regardless of the time of year. But I've been playing a lot whenever I can, and I don't plan on taking any breaks for now.

i usually play normally, if i need some time off from poker grind i just do it anytime time in the year.
I set goals for the year.

In my case, since I’m a tournament player, I want to play between 5,000 and 6,000 games in 2026.

I don't take vacations, I play poker almost every day, sometimes I'm busy and maybe I don't play for a day, all the online friends I know also play almost every day. For those of us who like poker it's normal to talk about poker every day, comment on hands, or some prize won, we always rejoice when someone wins a good sum of money in a tournament.

I'm not a professional player and I only play when I really want to play, so, I usually don't take any vacation from poker. But I would say if you're a professional, it's important to take a break from poker at least one time per year.

Instead of playing regularly or in large amounts, I try to be selective about when and how I play. This allows me to do other things without completely eliminating poker from my life.

Poker is still a meaningful and educational hobby for me, but I find it useful to take a break from intense play from time to time. It does not mean completely forgetting about poker just study poker more and play less.
Trying taking a more balanced approach to the game. This allows me to enjoy poker without unnecessary pressure and maintain motivation in the long run.

I take a break from poker in the summer, I rarely play, I go fishing and have a vacation.The only thing better than running well is running better. In poker, a break is essential.
