My wife plays too (not online), so she will sit with me sometimes while I'm playing and play along. I think it's easy for her to be "OK" with my hobby, because she understands that I'm mostly playing for fun and it provides some extra income for us.

My wife just hate it. She doesn't like me not paying attention to her words for at least 4 hours long. Had to take a long break, and get back with short sit&go tournaments

Hi.
Sometimes my girlfriend takes offense at me if I play poker for too long. But I always try to find a compromise. Honestly, I think family is more important in any case.

I can share poker stories with my son, who actually signed up for Cardschat initially...hence the skateboarding pic. My wife does not play or understand the game, and she will only complain when I play too much, leaving little time for us. When that happens, I may stop for a few weeks.

Family doesn't "get it", GF loves and hates it. Loves that I bring home the money, hates that I'm out until all hours of the night, doesn't get why I can't just get up at 8 and "hit the tables", like there'd be action lol.

For me, poker is a hobby. Only my friends share my passion for poker and only with them do I communicate on this subject since they themselves play poker.

They accepted that this is one of my hobbies, but cannot get excited about it as I can. I spend so much money to get here, but I don't regret it, cause it was an educational circle. Now I don't deposit, and have huge successes at freerolls. I become self-confident, and know what bankroll I need to move on.
So years made me a better poker player, and when I 'll get money from it, they would not judge me as much, but I was playing this road alone. This community now is my backup.

And maybe my beloved ones can relate to my new me..

I won’t say that they support me in my passion for rocker, I’ll say that they don’t condemn me. I believe that any hobby of a loved one should be supported until it turns into fanaticism that upsets or hurts your loved ones.

only one friend supports me in what I do, I spend a lot of time in poker rooms, but I haven't had any major gains, I raised $ 600 from the bank for a few years, everyone around me was happy then, but since then everyone is mostly laughing, but i miss 'when the last one laughs, the sweetest one laughs'

They told me that if I lost more than 1000 dollars then they would throw my computer off the balcony. And they'll kick me in the ass. A disappointing prospect for me.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!

I grew up Mormon, and all my family members still are, even though I am not. they absolutely do not agree with my decision to be involved with poker. gambling to them is morally wrong. this makes it hard share my passion for the game at all. I have come to understand that you can't live for other people, you have to live for yourself and for the Lord. What you do in life is between you and Him, not other people, so frankly, I don't care what my family thinks about the hobby.
