it is kind of hard to start from freerolls and build a freeroll but it is possible. i have won 45 bucks from coming in 1st in a 250$ freeroll and really did not do to well with it. But once i came in 1st in a 25$ freeroll, and won 6$ and turned that $6 into 228$, i cashed out $200 and messed around with the 28, but it felt good to start with $0, and less then 3 days later cashing out $200.

hmm

Personally,I make all of my money from freerolls,at least to start with.I havnt made any huge bankrolls yet but enough to cashout several times.I do need to get into bigger money games, but I would do it with freeroll money.I would want to have a rakeback account if I decided to play the ring tables 2 or more hours. This way I would get 27% to 33% of my losses back.

Annette Obrested has never deposited and she is up millions and Rob Eckstut cashed in 1 mil PS playchips for 10 bucks and is a top online player. One of the reasons are these types of people don't listen to the negative forum posts and took advantage of the exponential rate of online poker.

lol

somehow I felt like I'm the target of this post. :D

Cardschat is a great place to start.

Have to agree 100% here. CC has the best value Freeroll online that I have come across by far. Many of the regular freeroll players have won hundreds of dollars playing these (or more).

Its like banging your head to play some of these freerolls for $25 or $50 bucks on some of the sites with 1500 people playing. Im not sure if play chips is better.

I've got br's on several sites. All started from FR winnings. Have never made a deposit on any site. It can be done... patience and bankroll management are the keys. Obviously, in addition to survivng the donk-ish fields involved.

Like to build at sites i havent deposited at to 50$ b4 i play any cash games. If im in a game where i have lots of $ i play my normal game. If it is at a site i have under 50$ i play more consevative and tend to bottom cash more just to get closer to that 50. Feel plenty comfortable playing 5.50 sit and gos once i hit that mark wait until at least 100 to play cash games. The tougher to cash out sites, i may deposit b4 i even start playing there. Been a good formula for me. My problem is i usually have to cash out 2 soon, like at 1k and then have to stay playing same level insytead of moving up like i should be. Guess to answer the question i believe it is a great start if you follow it up with smart play and perfect bankroll management.

Not huge, but what I play with now has been from freerolls. Although the amount would be considered "Micro" in bankroll standards, it is my poker bankroll. I have found that getting into the private freerolls, as this site offers and others, are far better than the ones that have hundreds of players. The quality of players in these kinds of free rolls are better players, and not som many. Once you place in the free rolls sit in some "Limit" games and then some No limit games...and continue the free roll tourny's.

Good luck in your efforts

I started with no deposit on Gutshot just playing freerolls. Ran it up over $2400 in about a year. What a grind, but shows it can be done.

I know a few people that have done it. Chris Freguson being the most well known. It is not an easy thing to do though. And you can't expect it to happen overnight.

I know of several people that have taken their freeroll winnings and turned it into decent money on the tables. But it takes time - Especially early on. I would suggest getting at least a $50.00 bankroll in freeroll winnings before even trying to hop on a real money game.

When I think of the time it could take to get to 50 bucks playing only in freerolls, I would rather skip it and make a deposit. Playing in that many freerolls may be good practice. But if you don't need the practice, time is money.

hi everyone
id like for you to share your histories about your sucess playin poker online....
does anyone start with zero on your poker account and built huge bankroll?

there was an argentinian who won the sunday million without depositing any money.... he just started playing some frerolls and after winning a couple of dollards he tried a satelite to qualify for the sunday million.. he wins the satelite and reached the sunday million for free... after 11 hours of game he finished in 1st place winning more than 200k.... there is a blog in intellipoker who talk about this man...his pokerstars name is fer10k...
in conclusion it is possible to make a huge bankroll strating with 0, however you should be very lucky in order to win great amounts of money...

Free rolls are fun, BUT...

unless you are always planning on staying in the very low levels of play, you need to deposit and get on with it. Listen, I am still a losing player but the lessons I have learned have all been in bigger money games with better players. What is the point of putting in 1,000 hours playing freerolls and banking 200$ and then not being able to play against better players after all that time spend playing? :)

building your bankroll from Freerolls

Yeah, you could do it... but you need to have patience and discipline. It might take you 3 months in till you win a single Freeroll that pays of $2... then you got to really think hard on how to play those $2 in order to build up your bankroll... if you are good at Freerolls, then you could just let it sit on your account and play and win a few more freerolls in till you got a nice amount ($50-$100).

then you got to strategies on what games to play, are you better at cash games or tournaments, sit-n-goes or MTT. once you figure that out, then you can plan it out...

but you got to protect your bankroll, because it did cost you a lot of time and effort to get it... so if you play MTT tournaments or sit-n-goes... you could play with 0.02% of your bankroll... if you want to play in a cash ring game, then it's 0.05% of your bankroll...

the hardest part is getting past the $100 mark... after that you can start building momentum a lot faster...

GOOD LUCK AT THE TABLES

I dont know about huge winnings, apart from Chris Ferguson, but I have got to around $300. I started last October and only played freerolls and won some money and then used some of that to enter tourneys. I have now got around $300 spread over FT, PS and High5Action. I am pretty happy just plodding away at that level. I get great satisfaction out of doing well in these tourneys and do not worry too much about making a lot of money from poker. It is fun with no pressure.

I'm a firm believer that it can be done.

I am currently at the start of my freeroll journey and i'm up to $10 thanks to winnin a prorakeback.org freeroll last night.

Out of the $6 I won (it was only a $25 prize pool) I played 2 1-table SNG's. Won one and lost the other.

I'm gonna try build my bankroll a bit from the freerolls before I play alot of buyins. I play regularly on 3 poker sites.

FTP has lots of freerolls (I play about 10 a day) to choose from and if you sign up to alot of poker forums you'll be spoiled for choice!! :D

BoDog has 2 $500 freerolls daily which is GREAT.

Hope this helps and GL

This definitely can be done.
I took $2 on a freeroll from JetSet poker to $5200. Now, this was a few years ago and that site has since been shut down, and now Im working on bodog poker. Patience is key, and don't get ahead of yourself. Stick to the right limits and anything can happen.

It can be done. You "won't" win alot of money thru freerolls, but you can win enough that you can use it to play in real money games and with proper BR management and play...you can build it up. I built up a four figure BR that way...took a few months to do...and its not easy...but it can be done..

on the 3 sites i play iv built up over $100.00 on each site from freerolls and the trick after that is to start playing low limit sit n go 's i,m not a cash game player so not as much downswing just lose your buy in's. i switch between 2 and 5 $ sng's seems to b working, evry now and then you should take a shot playing outside of your 5% bankroll rule and play a 10-20 $ game then go back down until bankroll % allows you to move up and still grind away on any freerolls u can
