Seriously, I have given up on money orientated goals. It wasn't good for me.
It took away the fun for me. I'm now back after few years away from poker and thanks to stupid laws I can only play certain games on Pokerstars. Our government put out regulation, so I can't play any freerolls and some other games I used to like.
If I make any money on the side, that's all nice and I will welcome it
at microstakes where I'm starting now from the beginning, I don't have big ambitions, tho. My goal for now will be winning in women's micro tourneys. The game seems pretty soft. To sum up my rumbling, you can definitely pay for your rent from poker, but it takes a lot of skill and good mindset. As others have said, it also depends where you live
