jk, i like doing that sometimes. when they call you've still got position and will take the pot down postflop a lot, and it makes them think twice about 3betting you light

Dang, out of my tourney in 23rd. Had 2nd place locked up pretty well when some jackass pushed with AJo and flushed with his A of spades against my AKs diamonds. That knocked me down a bit.

Then, my QJs<45o against the chip leader. Still made a $16 profit, so not too bad.

v. true, i mean how important can 10% be in the long run, really. Ill just revise for the exam instead of winging it, and gain that 10% back easy

also screw you enty, i gave you 1 job to remind me that i still needed to get the reload bonus and you didn't!!!!!. Luckily i reminded myself and thought i should probably not use the same, ill do it tomorrow excuse ive been using

Seriously that was too easy. Turn was a blank, river made Jx less likely, and all the draws missed... plus villain was probably from France (or at least had retard stats given the Q6 thing). What I wanna know is how you find fish that bad at that level

It's the power of the minraise. People show up with the strangest shit and do the stupidest stuff in minraised pots. Also this wasn't a fish, it was a decent reg.

I mean look at it from his angle. He can't really rep anything at all. Jx probably checks turn back, as mentioned second J makes it even more unlikely, and sets raise the flop. Plus on top of that all the draws (FD and gutshot on turn) missed. So unless I called the turn with a draw (which would be so so bad) I have a hand that can call here. If I raise it 3x he probably folds and I win the BB but when I minraise people spazz out pretty bad. It's like they assume that if I minraise preflop I must have air. The problem is of course when I minraise AA and the flop comes Q66.

oh yeah, i didn't notice the minraise pre, i just thought it was some random fish defending vs. a standard raise. silly regs spazzing to minraises. to be fair, the board kind of just happened to come in a way where he can't rep much at all, from the flop and the river, not that he did himself any favors. i guess if he's able to outplay people in position a lot, the PF call for that price can be okay? i'm not sure. but as a general rule i just fold that garbage to a minraise and don't think twice about it

I've got a fun fish at one table right now

26/19/.8 over 85 hands but the fun stat is this: 3bet is 15%

He's limp->3bet 6 or 7 times so far and plays fit or fold after the flop (won't even cbet usually)

That's something I don't think people understand. Knocking out 1 shorty (especially when you're not at the final table, or near the bubble) rarely has that much of an effect on your tourney EV. But if bluffing into the a dry sidepot gives you better odds to win the chips in that sidepot, it increases your tourney EV substantially.
