Follow the heart or the brain?

I don’t think it’s good to listen to your heart in poker. In poker, the brain is more needed because of the math. I’m not saying that sometimes the heart can’t help, but it would be better to use it than in live poker.

I trust my intuition because I know it's drawing on more than my conscious brain. It accesses memory about past situations virtually instantly and runs comparisons with the current situation before me, again instantly. Sometimes my conscious brain with come up with a logical reason to take a different approach.....hah, that's when I screw up.

I understand the meaning of the question ... but for me all decisions are made with integrity, the components that make up our being cannot be separated, we are a unit and we belong to a great unit that is the universe. The feeling, the thought, the intuition, the body and many other factors that may not even have names, act together.

There is a biblical proverb that says 'in the multitude of counselors is wisdom'.
My brain makes all the decisions. When you need advice the heart speaks. But the final word is always that of the brain. However, sometimes my heart takes control of my hand and presses the keys. Sometimes it works. Others go wrong.
A tournament is not defined in just one hand. From start to finish, hundreds of hands are played to finish a tournament. If you want to get to FT, play with the brain.
Isn't poker the sport of the mind? Now, play with your mind.
