You’re technically right, you can’t lose with a royal flush… it’s the untouchable crown

What I meant is more about expected value. It feels like the hand shows up so rarely, and when it does, the board often screams danger so loudly that everyone runs for cover. You end up winning a small pot with the strongest hand in poker, which feels almost… criminal 😅

But yeah, table image and history matter a lot. Against the right opponent, especially someone who thinks you’re capable of bluffing big, you can absolutely get paid. Those are the sweet moments where the royal flush actually lives up to the hype.

Still, I swear most of mine end with me betting into thin air 🤣

Good morning everyone, I started playing poker in 2018, I made around 6 straight flushes, royal flush I think it was 2 or 3 times and, interestingly, despite being a very rare hand, most of the time I won many chips, because the villains also made strong hands. There is one that is unforgettable: it was at the final table on 888poker with 9d8d, board 7d 5d 6d and the villain with 4d 3d, what is the probability of 2 players making a straight flush in the same hand?

In Texas Hold'em: The probability of a royal flush is approximately 1 in 30,000 hands.

For it to occur at least once:

To have a 50% probability, you need to play about 20,800 hands.
For a 75% probability, about 41,500 hands.
For a 90% probability, about 69,000 hands.

Yes, I had a royal flush a couple of times. It's a very rare combination. The first time I won a big pot, and the second time I didn't get paid 😢

I don't believe this first statement is accurate. What is this based upon? All players seeing the flop? And all cards being dealt to river, every single hand?

I think when calculating the odds of us hitting a Royal Flush I think we need to calculate things in like "if we're playing VP$IP 25% (or XX%), in a 6max game" or whatever parameters need to be input for what game we're playing (9 player MTT, 6 man Cash game, etc. etc)

Yup me 2! One with spades and the other one with diamonds! Of course everyone folded but 1 player who was allin preflop with hardly any chips the other one was a big win knocking out 4 players! One on Abzorba free poker site the other was DH Poker. Both are free poker rooms. Haven't yet for real money online but I have hit straight flushes several times on different poker sights.

I actually would have hit in hands I folded a couple times. That was very frustrating to watch. I think it was 6, 3 in the sb I folded to a raise preflop! 2, 4, 5 was the flop! 🫣🙃

It was an AIOF (start of their 'live tour' path) , you start with 50 tournament chips when the blinds are 10k/20k. I guess I should switch from showing BB in that one😜
