Yes, many times in fact. But I always return, because I don't have too many hobbies.

A few months ago I just felt bored and decided to get away from poker for a while, a long time before (a couple of years ago) I wanted to throw everything to hell because I lost several important games with bad beats and I took it very seriously, I thought it was against me lol Now I only play a couple of hours a day, I don't pay much attention to it and I don't get involved in important games because my bankroll doesn't allow it, hahaha. Greetings

With bad luck, a similar thought always arises. It used to.

I have this feeling during any more or less long downstreak. It feels like I can't do anything. I feel like the main fish at all the tables, who are always trying to beat. Thankfully I'm used to it)

I had this feeling when I first started. I wasn't that skilled and also got unlucky on a few hands I should have won, but after a bunch of learning and practise I realised I just sucked and had way to many leaks to build a bankroll. Now I'm stacking I don't get worried if I have a few bad beats.

hello, I almost thought about it, but I didn’t think about quitting, but I reduced deposits and the frequency of games for deposits, now I make much fewer deposits, I play freerolls, etc. and I normally control my excitement

No Bologna

It crosses my mind when I flop a straight, bet significant on all streets, and some knucklehead calls me all the way to the river, and sucks out on me. I blow a gasket for a minute and then go to the next hand. I would never quit poker.

IMO bad runs can make most of us question why waste our time with this game but we just need to realize that's just variance and we can't really control the board and can just try to always make the best decisions (that's why it's so important to have a strong mental poker game)... For me, poker is a hobby(tho I play more than the usual 'recreational' players) and I'm always careful to pick games within my bankroll and this helps me deal better with losing sessions...

GLGL all at the tables!

No, for what?
Why "throw a grenade at poker", if all the problems of the player arise only due to lack of patience and discipline. If you blame poker for losing money, then you'd better find another hobby, such as cycling or swimming.

I quit playing poker with the money I already made. I mean, I don't play poker for real money anymore, except for games where I don't risk anything, namely freerolls. Sometimes, I can afford to play in a particular exclusive tournament where there are a lot of players, a very large prize pool and on the condition that if I lose my money, it will not affect my life in any way. This is due to the fact that during the time spent on poker, I can earn good money in real life. And also the heyday of the game of poker has already passed and it is too late and pointless to set a goal for yourself as a professional player.

Its not a big deal if you stop playing. I can't play like 10+ tables of holdem or play like 4-5 tables of stud/stud8 or razz while remembering or at least having a clue which cards are out anymore but I still remember most of the basics. You just have to take a refresher course and start practicing again,

Its not the end of the world if you stop, lol. But if it starts to feel like it is the end of the world then that bad, lol, I think they have hotlines for folks with gambling problems.

Folks stop playing for lots of reasons, they just see themselves spending too much time at it and devote their time to something else. They have family commitments or want to spend time working on family/friend relationships. Some folks want to improve their education while other focus on a career. Unless you're retired or have enough passi8ve income coming in then a lot of folks just don't have the time for poker, lol.

I'm taking a break from poker now working more on sports betting since I like watching sports. We have March Madness with the NCAA now, NBA and NHL playoffs starting soon, baseball season is coming soon and NFL draft is at the end of April. Poker can wait a little, its not going anywhere, lol.

Stop not, but I already doubted if I was not being cheated.

But after studying and understanding the math of the game, that doubt was eliminated.

Yes, I stop two times, I was spending too much time in the casinos and not spending time with my family.
Poker is a good game, but only if you find balance with your other priorities.

Right now I'm thinking about quitting poker! This is due to the fact that all rooms block Russian players and therefore it is very difficult to find games in rooms, plus many players show aggression towards Russian players, and it becomes uncomfortable to play! I think that I will stop playing poker until better times! Good luck at the tables!

I actually think about bigger things, like playing a high quality event. A BSOP for example could take me to another level.

Lots - its usually something that crosses most poker players minds at some point.

Poker can be summarised as a hard way to make an easy living but the mental exertion in playing a good poker game takes a toll on everybody at some point or other

Never. I never thought about it and I'm sure I won't think about it. Poker is fun for me. I don't spend my own money on the game, moreover, I increase my bankroll every week by playing in freerolls. So I see no reason to stop playing poker.

Hi.
I never thought of stopping playing poker. For me, poker is a hobby that brings me pleasure and money, so on the contrary, I try to play as much as possible.
Good luck.

I have thought of quitting several times. The main reason is that I like to study the game and improve my game, and I don't have much time to do that. So now I play much less and more-or-less recreationally. I may still quit, but it is fun to play. I am just too busy to explore the game the way I would like to do.

Already several times. I thought that this game was not for me, because I had no ability to deal with frustrations and poker is a lot of that; FRUSTRATIONS!
And that's okay! The psychological factor is a determining factor for us not to fall into despair and end up giving up because we don't know how to deal with it.

I usually grind for 3-6 months, then chill for 3-6 months. I find it a lot easier to get burned out as I get older.
