Decreased motor, social and other activity and poor sleep, but time heals everything, after 2-3 days I am normal. If you find yourself showing signs of depression, do not postpone a visit to a specialist who can assess your condition and provide qualified assistance.

I am never angry when I lose, Sure I can kick myself when I have made a stupid move, but that soon passes, If you play as I do just for a bit of fun, then losing a few Quid in a weekly game doesn't hurt the Bank Balance too much.
I used to look on the buy-in as the Ticket or Door price for entering the game, and that money is dead, if I lose then so be it, but even if I min-cash it has been a brilliant enjoyable game, and if I should Win 1st place then Wow! What a night I have had,
I never enter a game thinking I am going to win, my first target is making that Final Table, only then can I start to think about winning. That way I am seldom disappointed.

Having now played long enough to see the many ways variance impacts the game, I am less subject to bad moods after losing than when first starting to play. I will sit down with a nice hand rolled cigar and reflect back on the hand(s) that didn't go my way, looking at how I read the situations and my subsequent decisions. Ultimately I accept that either a bad read/play or an unfortunate turn of the cards was the determining factor, and try to learn from my errors or realize it was just one of those days and move on.

I usually dont have time to dwell on bad beats, its just on to the next table.

If I have a bad session then I try to take a break and get some exercise.

i try not to get in a bad mood at all and especially not because of a game of poker or any game at all because losing is part of it.

if i fail 3 tables in a row i will stop playing poker that day and try again another day.

Put on some good music, make some food or go out and sit in a restaurant and eat, drink a tea, sit outside, put on a good show or movie, play a video game, text a friend.

Try your best not to be results oriented. Do your best. Try to have a short memory with your negative emotions. Analyze how you played, put that info into the solver and figure it out there but don't sit in your negative emotions and dwell.

In my case, I watch a movie or anime series to relax before trying again to go to the tables.

Hey guys!

Dealing with a bad mood after a poker loss can be challenging, especially when you invest time, effort and money in the game. However, it is essential to have a healthy and constructive approach to dealing with these negative emotions. I try to follow some strategies to deal with a bad mood after a poker loss:

Acknowledge and accept your emotions: It is normal to feel frustration, anger or sadness after a loss. Rather than ignoring these emotions, acknowledge them and accept that they are part of the process. Allow yourself to feel and express these emotions in a healthy way.

Take time to recover: After a significant loss, take time to recover emotionally. This could mean taking a break from gambling for a few hours, days, or even weeks, depending on the intensity of the loss. Give yourself space to calm down and process your emotions.

Reflect on the play: Use the loss as an opportunity to learn and improve your game. Reflect on the play you lost and analyze whether there were any mistakes or questionable decisions. Identify areas where you can improve your skills and strategies to avoid making the same mistakes in the future.

Keep a Long Term Mindset: Poker is a game of skill, but it also involves a measure of luck. Remember that losses are part of the game and that long-term success is what matters. Keep a broad perspective and avoid focusing too heavily on a single loss.

Practice self-compassion: Be kind to yourself and avoid excessively punishing or criticizing yourself after a loss. Poker involves ups and downs, and it's important to be compassionate with yourself in these situations. Treat yourself with respect and understanding, recognizing that we all make mistakes and face challenges.

Develop a positive mindset: Instead of being consumed by a bad mood, cultivate a positive mindset. Focus on the aspects of the game you enjoy and the lessons you learned from each experience. Find ways to motivate and inspire yourself to keep improving as a player.

Seek support and share experiences: Talk to other poker players, friends or members of online communities to share your experiences and get support. Sharing your emotions and listening to different perspectives can help alleviate bad moods and gain valuable insights.

What am I supposed to do? Shrug it off, keep playing ...

any amount of 'emotional baggage' only exacerbates your losses.

One way to control the tilt due to bad bets is simply to take a deep breath and slowly release air about 2 or 3 times, or as many times as necessary, since that would lower the cortisol level and stress that you have. You also have to think about the mathematical calculations that gave you a great percentage of victory and that in the long run with similar situations you will win.

In case the anger is much greater, stop playing, get up, take a walk to clear your mind to assimilate it so that you can play again.

Just take a break. Relax watch a movie 🎥 and think 🤔 if you could have played any better. If you went over your hand 🤚 history and couldn’t find any spots you could have played better, well you have no reason to be sad 😢. Cause you made all the right decisions and in poker that’s all you could do. This is not a easy life we have chosen it comes with pain tears 😭 and joy 🤩. So hold on for the ride baby.
