Stamina is definitely a skill that needs to be developed. Your brain gets tired just like all your other muscles. 12 hours would be an incredible performance!

Personally, I get tired after playing for about four hours. :icon_joke

I played once 12 hours and I was very tired. It was hard to keep up a good game. Therefore, I would say that you need prepare yourself, have a good night of sleep, great meal and be confortable to play. If you not you wont be able to handle no more than 6 hours. That's a lot already!

I cant play for more than 5 hours because more hours mean more impatient for me. Still need to improve my mental stability, and endurance. Dreaming of playing live poker in big tourney.

I believe that all games should be done in fast mode, so that they do not take up a lot of time in turbo and super turbo mode.

The most I've been playing while being productive it's 5 hours at live. Online it was around 20 hours, there was some festival or something and I couldn't sleep so...

4-5 is About My Max

I’ve played tournaments that have lasted several hours, 3-4. Not sure how much more I could have gone. The one thing I’d change in format is to get rid of rebuys. Hate em.

Me too. I don't like Rebuy and Add-on, they don't create a fair atmosphere in my opinion. Once you got eliminated, you should be able to return to the tourney. Regarding the add-on, usually they are the same value of Buy-ins but huge amount of chips. I can't understand it!

As long as you are getting food and water I don’t see why the top players couldn’t play for as long as they want. I guess sleep would then have to come into play. I have played in an 8 hour tournament before but it isn’t like I am a pro player or anything.

I Agree

I agree, I don’t like add ons either. I do like the format of CC freeroll tournaments.

I believe for a productive game of poker a maximum of 8 hours, since most people have such a biorhythm of the body clock, then the loss of concentration and attention begins. And then to extend the break every hour, do exercises that would normally circulate blood through the body and there were no health problems.:elefant:

In my opinion it will always depend on the modality you are playing if it is cash game about 6 hours depending on how you go in the session the same as if it is in sit & go it can be 8 but if you are a mtts player how long you last in the tournaments you have normally open you can last between 8 to 10 hours a day depending on the volume of your game as well.

You have asked a question and gotten tons of replies with a large variety of answers. For the A game, I would say between 4-8 hours can be done but that does involve the "smoke breaks" where you take 2-5 minutes of the table to clear the mind and this goes for live and online. However, this is for 1 table play and the more tables you have going for online the faster you burn the candle.

The longest I have played in a live game without sleep so only resting for meals, bathroom, and stretching was just above 50 hours but I was much younger then. Started with $100 at the table and finished at $1200 with a good friend who was also with me. We did this as a challenge to ourselves to see how long we could play at the time and where the win/loss point was. What we played was what I called boring poker, we made sure that we played the A+ rock type game as the tables at that time would always have significant aggressors there. Considering I had about $2500 at the peak, the losses/swings became severe in my game after 28 hours and it was a $1/$2 game with average stacks at about $200. I have never done this since but I was in my mid 20s when I did this.

For live game tournaments no more than 12/14 hours. After that period, they usually continue the next day.

For online tournaments, the formats already indicate the estimated time in the level structure.

I consider that time plays for everyone the same!

I've heard that stable regulars play all the time, from sunrise to sunset.

As long as I have good eyesight, I can play it. Of course, if you don't, memory and card counting fail after the flop.

I can play live alot longer than online at one time.

I lose concentration after a few hours online.
At a live casino, I could stay all night.

With the greatest concentration and focus you cannot play more than 6 hours, regardless of that you can play 12 or 15 hours quietly.

I play poker as long as I am able to sit by the laptop and do my thing. I love the game so as long as I am home due to covid, I play away as much as I can.
