I'm used to playing at tables with 9 or 8 players. Tables with fewer than 8 players don't interest me, except for freerolls.

More players = bigger mistakes to capitalize on. You get clearer edges, more predictable ranges, and way less leveling nonsense. It rewards patience, hand reading, and discipline over clicking buttons

I prefer 4 players. The fewer players for me is the better. The game is faster and flows well without much delay. As there are fewer players, it is easier to better understand the psychology and behavior of each player throughout their plays.

6-max for me. More hands, more action, better balance between strategy and fun.
8–9 is fine for tournaments.

Probably six players at a poker table is the optimal number of players.

I play tournaments with 8 or 9 players at a table. I play 2 to 4 tables at a time and playing with 6 players at a table is too dynamic for me.

The number of players at the table changes the pace and style of play. At larger tables, the game is slower and hands are played with tighter ranges, while at six-player tables, the pace is faster, ranges are wider, and there is more post-flop action. This is why many players prefer the 6-max format, as it offers more participation and opportunities to exploit skill against weaker opponents.

I feel comfortable when there are 8 or 9 players at the table. I don't like short tables because I have to play more creatively, which is riskier. I also don't like when there are a lot of players sitting out at the table.

If I’m playing cash games, I definitely prefer 6-max tables because they are more dynamic and allow for more aggressive play. For MTTs, I’m more comfortable with 9-max since it feels more structured, especially in the early stages. Different formats just require different mindsets. Overall, it’s nice to switch between them to keep the game from feeling repetitive.

In tournaments I feel more comfortable at a 9-player table, and in cash I like a 6-player table better.

Personally, I like 8-9 max tables the most. I'm not so confident at 6 max because of the ranges, as there are no UTG or UTG+1, and 4 max is a complete nightmare.

For me us the best by 9 pkayers per table, but 8 is ok. Don't like head to head tourneys.

I usually play 6 max for cash games and bounty tournaments, but for regular tournaments I go with 8 max.

I prefer 6-max tables (six-handed).

There are more hands per hour than at full ring tables.

There are more opportunities to attack the blinds.

Skill and aggression are rewarded more.

There is less reliance on premium hands.
