At the current time, I would rather have monies vs wsop entry...I have played in (via satellite) a WPT event, so I understand what a 'big' tournament is like. The experience is awesome, and I would love to play again, but it boils down to monies >> entry

i would play not even a close decision. playing the main event is a dream of mines since i got into poker plus if u make it deep enough to cash u get both of the perks by playin in the main event and gettin 10k+ for playing.

Well I'd cash out because I think $2000 isn't enough for me to get planes to go and come back from vegas...

I'm planning to go anyway, maybe someday...

I would keep the money this time.
2 reasons:
1: I dont have live tournament experience.
2: USA is far away.

I would definitely play the ME. This would be the only way I'd ever get a chance to do so, so there's no way I'm cashing in. My luck, I'd cash it in, lose that money, and then always wonder. No way I'm turning that chance down.

And all the other sensible people above with weddings, debts, bills etc

Often you don't get the choice, its the prize package or nothing. But if you could cash it in then really it is like asking the question, would you buy in and pay the expenses yourself?

And so if you had to make the investment or choose something more sensible it should be quite obvious what you should do.

But then ...
You could always tell the wife (or voice of reason) that there wasn't a cashing in option. ...

I would have to take the money and run. 12k would cover all my college expenses. The experience would be awesome but Ide have to manage my money smartly for once.

Im going to take a wild guess and say that beating 6000 people isn't exactly easy, so coming back with 10k+ surely isnt guaranteed

I would take the money and play in a smaller event, hoping to build a bigger bankroll, then take a shot at a later time.

Would have to play...You don't get that many chances to make big money that can set you up for a long while and that isn't 1 billion to 1 like the lottery. At least you have a fighting chance to make the money and get your 10K back + profit.

I did bubble a 10K sat once on Vegas that was as close as I have got to 10K entry. I was definitely playing if I got in.....

wsop seat

without a doubt, I would play it!! Playing a WSOP event has been a dream of mine. Even if I didn't cash, just to be able to say that I played at the WSOP would be a dream come true. Being able to go and play the best poker I know how to play and having the possibility of winning life changing money is an opportunity I couldn't pass up. Who knows, the poker Gods might be smiling at me that day.

I would definitely want to go, but it's too much right now to risk. I was wondering, if you are a person from the 18-20 range, and you win a seat. Don't you get a lesser amount of money or do you still get the money and you are allowed to withdraw it?

Yes, it is a longshot but it's worth a try.

$10k is alot of money but the experience would be worth that $10k to me.
