Is it possible for an average player to win enough money in freerolls to buy food for their basic needs?

Here where I live in Brazil, in Brasília, the capital of Brazil, near my house there's a wholesale supermarket where, for $50 a week, you can buy basic food for one person for the week, based on the typical diet in my region, for example: rice, beans, beef, chicken, eggs, vegetables, and greens, I based this value on my own personal weekly food expenses.

The average player is losing money .Good players win small amounts in freerolls .You are very fortunate if you can feed yourself so reasonably in Brasilia ! I would expect most of us can't get by so cheaply .

It's possible to earn that amount, but keeping that income consistently and risk-free isn't easy, let alone relying on them to cover daily expenses, so for the average player, it's best to play for fun.

only from freerolls i think is very hard to do that. maybe start from freerolls and at some point if you have a bankroll start to play some cash games.

You can make 50$ a week in freerolls but you have to play on all poker sites I guess

It depends on the prize pool of those freerolls. If the prize pool is only $50 or $100, even if you finish in first place, you'll probably win only around $7–$17. I don't think it's realistic to win five freerolls every month consistently.

I would say you cant. There is not enough free rolls out there to consistently make the amount you need every week.

Not really although I have successfully paid my bills past 3 months am from Kenya and the budget is less but then I use my freeroll winning to play other cash tournaments, spins and other short games that's how I make more and 200usd is enough for all my monthly bills

If you play 12 hours each day and your a good player, you have good odds to buy food for the week!

If I think it's possible that you can earn about $300 a month to cover those weekly expenses and more. I don't think it's crazy

Agree with Perry, if you play 12 hours a day every day with any luck you could very well make $50 a week, but here in Canada that will feed you a couple of days if you don't buy beef.not a life I would want, plus what happens when no matter how well you play it just doesn't matter we all as poker player's have those huge swings.do yourself a favor keep your day job and play the freerolls for what their meant for having fun and building a small bankroll

It's definitely possible assuming you can find enough freerolls and can actually withdraw from sites without issues, the bigger question is whether there is a more efficient use of your time because the money you make per hour will be extremely low.

Your so right, don't think there is a real money site out there that will let you withdraw without depositing 1st and a lot of them will make you play through on real money tables a certain percent, lot of easier ways to make a living

Honestly, my friend, it's impossible. You can't rely on the volatility of a freeroll to pay for food and basic expenses. Focus on improving your game, move up to the micro stakes and then the mid stakes. At the mid-stakes level, you will see a huge improvement in your life.

If you're a good player, participating in freerolls isn't worth it — it's a waste of time. I would only participate in a freeroll to win some money and be able to play at micro and mid-stakes tables.

If possible, playing all the freerolls that are available and combining with micro-limit tournaments. I think that several players from Latin America benefit from freerolls, because they are a great help to pay expenses,
A few months ago there was a mttsport page, where there were freerolls and tickets, which you could sell on that page, this page was full of Cuban players, and some told me that what they were earning there was a great help to buy food. 🥹

Truly not worth it, but on the other hand it would be awesome survival challenge. At least it would be an experience, maybe some day when I have absolutely nothing else to do.

It's impossible; I don't think you can make a living from this by playing freerolls.

yep , you'd have to enter every freeroll on ACR , and similar sites ,full time to make fifty dollars .And where i live that doesn't even come close to covering a week's supply of groceries .

I wouldn't count on that. Just a few freerolls have big prizes, and it isn't easy to always reach the firsts places. I'd say that considering the time that you need to invest, the reward is not worth it.
A more serious goal would be to build a bankroll playing freerolls, and start learning at least the basics.

Wow $2,500 per annum for groceries. In New Zealand our yearly outlay would be over $12,500.

Granted, if you're living in a place where there are absolutely no opportunities or available jobs then it might make sense, but you still have to pay for the computer, electricity, and internet connection somehow before there is money to buy groceries.

For people living in countries where it's nearly impossible to withdraw without jumping through a bunch of hoops like you mentioned, rummaging through dumpsters and walking roadsides to pick up beverage cans for redemption would be faster money.

It is only possible if that player is an AVERAGE Eater as well with an AVERAGE Appetite!
