there's no rule of thumb IME, you can make it bigger or smaller depending on what your intentions for that bet are

yeah what Vanq said but i tend to 3-bet larger if im out of position

With that said a more typical 3bet is 3x their raise, which is near pot. Lets say they made it 3.5x, a pot raise would be to 12x. 3 times pot should not be the normal here. Squeezes should typically be bigger as well since we dont want to give the flatter proper odds if the original raiser flats.

honestly if a guy sucks in 3bet pots (ie: calls light and plays fit/fold postflop) and you're somewhat deep, you can make it like 5x+ profitably

This is very true, and plenty of villians do this. Its like the guy who wont fold to any size raise and folds almost all flops, just find out where they call until and bring in the money.

Lovely. Just found a 3-tabling 52/8/2 fish who reloads 100bb when rinsed. A walking ATM. :D

You realize you are now doomswitched 4 life after saying this right ?

Anyway, it is good to know I still crush 10nl. At least today I seem to be and I'm fairly certain I can on other days as well after witnessing the standard of play again.

I should just give up the illusion I can make any money on 25nl and play 10nl to get out of this months negativiteeeeeei.

Had some beats but I guess shortstacking asswhipes work both ways since set < set and runner runner straight vs my KK that hit set on flop was both for like < half stacks. Only had one 100bb cooler, KK < AA so still a good result. I can feel myself playing more pokahz now :p.

My love of the $22 rebuy is well documented, but the last couple of days have been silly as I've been chipleader in the first hour in all three.

Two days ago (with dj sweating) made chippie with a ludicrous run of good cards - then bust short of the cash as the switch got flicked the other way.

Yesterday (with Effexor railing) had another insane run in hour one, then decided to bluff off my stack approaching the money with 22 on the river versus a flopped flush :)

Today (below) chipleader after I hit a flush to triple up and then get TT all in v 33 for his stack (play is goot in these).

Chippie

Now of course getting a big stack early merely increases the chance of cashing but is no guarantee of anything as it's still usually a small % of the stack required to get a decent ITM finish.. .. but chippie 3 days in a row in a tourney with over 600 people. I AM DESTINED TO WIN TODAY.

ty

Now for the triple whammy of non-cashes :)

I have your table up. I'm railing you in silence, here at work.

Edit: I'll give you a dollar if you bust c88mph because I hate his shirtless avatar.
I hope he's already changed his avatar once and then his girlfriend breaks up with him so he's stuck with it.

Another edit: YSY!

C88 is teh horrible player :), surely doubling me in the next hour.

And Belgo, 200nl is a cruel mistress (ask Jagsti), I'm massively overrolled for it, but gave up after 75k hands of 0.8BB/100 with monster swings. It's soooo different from 100nl it's crazy... ...but the tricky thing about is that it hides it's teeth for the first 30k hands and then when you think 400nl is one day in your future, then WHAMMY and your turning tail and running for the safe fish-infested waters of 100nl.

^All true.

People handing me their stacks.

I normally ditch to the 3bet preflop, but Mr. 63% vpip in the SB isn't folding, so I have plenty odds to set mine.

Then I love the flop. Then Mr. 63% shoves. I should mention that he had an aggression factor of 0.2%. Then original guy calls the all-in. I call, but I'm not fistpumping.

Worked out, though.

TT was clearly favourite with 3 all ins ahead.

This table is insane. Insane but entertaining.

Yeah I gave up after a similar hand sample. I mainly suck at teh 3bet pots so it seems at 200nl and get f'kin owned. Anyways, I stick to my usuall BRM and take shots at like 40 buy ins.
