Tomorrow evening I have a 1 in 105 shot at a $15,000 WSOP main event package, Party Poker UK Student Poker Championship Final! Exciting, but if I get to final table, or make a horrible mistake and crash, finish 2nd etc. I have no idea what I'll do with myself!

It's winner take all? That's pretty brutal, suicide watch for 2nd place.

Anyway gl in it :).

Yep, winner take all, had qualifiers running since end of 2008... probably my best ever shot at getting wsop Main Event, or Vegas full stop, 1 in 105 is great considering I haven't had to spend a single penny for this opportunity! :)

Yeah, the winner has their tuition fees paid for as well :deal:, and I'm already on a scholarship, so I already get £6200 a year before I even get to dip into my student loan or lift a finger, so I could have a *very* healthy poker fund! Not too sure on completing my course however lol :D!

Must.. not.. get too excited! Cheers guys!

Winning the WSOP ME could also give you a pretty healthy poker fund :)

No matter what i ****in do, i always run like shit. Now im barely breakeven at FT after being up like $1800. Its unbelievable, im like 45 BIs below EV the last 2 months, not to mention getting coolered like its my job and donks showing up with the top of their range every ****ing hand. Sick last 10 hours.

Wow, This virtually mirrors my experience as well. Was up $1500 at FT this month, then boom, 3k hands over 3 days and -11 buy ins at 100nl wtf! Couldn't win a coin flip, or an 80/20 for my life, then the usual, bet pf, cb flop, get jammed on the turn by villain and burn $$$.

I won my step 3 tournament - so now have a step 4 ticket. I have a choice now. I can play the 9 person step 4 sng which pays this:

1st-2nd - step 5
3rd - step 4
4th-5th - step 3
6th - step 2

Or I can play in a step 4a where the top 3 advance to $650 WSOP Main Event qualifier w/ 25 pkgs gtd. It is tomorrow at 6pm and 188 are already qualified.

I am thinking I should stick to the step sng's - I seem to do well in them.

Step 5 - payouts are : ($700 buy-in)

1st-2nd - step 6
3rd-4th - step 5
5th-6th - step 4

Step 6 is the final stop: ($2100 buy-in)

1st - 12k WSOP Pkg (only 6 players in this)

or Step 6a:

1st-2nd - 12K WSOP Pkg (12 players start on 2 tables)

Starting chips in the step 6 are 3000 - all other steps are 1500.

I'm in the process of shifting to Devilfish poker, anyone play on Entraction Network? I feel like I'm being choked by rake and when he came to Oxford Union we got a special code for double standard sign up bonus 200% to EUR 2000, and 30% rakeback, I don't know exactly how well that racks up to other sites (sounds good to me!), but knowing stars don't rakeback at all and Full Tilt told me I am not elegible having signed up through an affiliate, now I'm playing a serious amount of hands, I feel I'm better jumping ship.

I notice most of you guys play at either Tilt or Stars, what are your reasons for shying away from some of the smaller sites, less fish? Other reasons? I'd be interested to know, I haven't withdrawn my Full Tilt BR just yet! :) I could yet be persuaded out of my move I suppose

think im going to shoot for everest's top vip level next month, the top level equates to like 60% rakeback + other bonuses and benefits, and unlike nova where you have to play 10 hours a day every day of the year to hit elite, for this ill have to play like 6 and a half hours a day 9 tabling (which is like the max on thier software) every day but only for the month, you then keep the vip level for like 3 or 4 months

If I were you I'd do the step 4a. Biggest reason is basically there are a bunch of really really good sng players that grind basically all the step 6's. I've heard of people winning 20+ seats to the WSOP ME and obv they just take the cash. The fact that you have to come in top 1 or 2 is a big negative imo just because you'll have to be playing 3-4 handed against people playing basically perfect push/fold. On the other hand you never have to get into spots where you're shorthanded against other extremely solid players in the 650 and there are plenty of people who got into that via satty. And since they only run once in a while I think a lot less of the really solid sng/mtt players will be playing that. Plenty of solid players for sure but the ratio of sharks:fish will be a lot smaller in the 650 imo. If you feel comfortable doing the sngs then by all means that's fine and you have a shot, just saying I believe the field will in general be softer in the 650.

This 2nl fun making is starting to make me feel uncomfotable.

Well not really... I play 05nl now finally.

Though actually I am playing more 08L razz recently.

THAT is gonna be a badass chart if i can figure out how to make it.
