I have discovered 6-max.

It's officially one third easier than full ring.

You don't have enough money behind. You won't hit a set often enough to make up for calling a big fat raise preflop. So you're going to have to bluff catch when he barrels with AK a lot, or blow him off his hand a lot to make up for the lack of set-mining odds. One or the other. And not only is that hard to do against a spewtard, but its flipping impossible from out of position.

Fold preflop if you like money.

I'm getting 2:1 immediate odds plus 11:1 that are implied. Odds of flopping a set are about 7.5:1 against.

I don't need him to stack every time I hit to turn a profit.

No, but you need him to stack damn often. It's a widely accepted fact that, even in position, in general you don't have odds in a 3bet pot to call a small pair.

I'm too lazy to find it now but I think it was Zach who wrote a very good post on set mining. The gist of it: you don't have as good odds as you think.

Well, fwiw thank you and Switch for pointing these things out.

I don't do this often so I don't think it's a leak (playing 10nl I try to stay out of 3bet pots without monsters), but I'll keep my eye out.

Argh I want to eat but there's a juicy one sitting with me right now and I can't leave till he does :(

I was actually suprised at bb's holding, since they were the nit of the 4 who saw the flop with me, since he was only 60/x unlike the other 3 who were each over 80 and sb was over 90 and was the 1 with the q,8 above. Obviously insta regretted the value 4bet when i got called by the table :(. somehow managed to bink a good flop though

he clearly had kjhh and soulread that he was drawing to only 5 immediate outs, and would have to fade river if he hit 1. Great play, you would have gone broke there coz your a fish

Just wondering, those who've played on Everest recently, how (relatively) easy is it to reach gain bonuses? Finding this 'Summit Points' and 'Camps' stuff kinda weird lol

I hear figures like this a lot, but I can't personally believe it. I usually only feel good if i have 15:1 implied because it's just really rare to take a stack. 12.5:1 would mean that you're stacking like half the time or more, which doesn't seem like the case.

Or are these odds more for pots with large raises or 3 bets, where taking stacks are more common?

I average ~350 points per hour 9 tabling 100nl. It's identical to star's vip system, just is more rewarding and easier to get.

Well, after playing a good 5c/10c session earlier I lost all my profits (like $30) with a missed tp/fd hand and KK<AJ aipf, so I tilted and left to a .5/1 flhe table to blow some steam (obv this is a bad idea. I rarely do this when I tilt)

Actually had a bit of fun. After having a swingy couple of hands I realized how much quicker I could build up my br playing it v. NL. Plus, easier decisions is always nice.

So I had an extended session and here's the results:

limithegraph.png

about hand 115 is where my non tilt session started. It's the longest single table session I've ever played (there was a short stint, maybe half hour where there is two tables) for a total of like 4 hours. Obviously I need to multi table this to make it worth while, but playing multiple tables of a new game is not a good idea obv.

There was one player who I played with for about 450 of those hands and every time I had top pair or better I just got as much money in every round I could with him. He never ever bets without the nuts but always calls with no pair/no draw. He lost like $70 throughout the session, at least $25 of it to me.

I like limit because it seems like in my small sample you get paid off with marginal hands much more often, which negates the few times I can't get max value out of big hands.

And for those who hate limit: I had a few times where someone would river a higher pair with questionable calls during the hand, but it's not as annoying as you'd think.

Ok cheers guys. I'm just trying to weigh up my options for moving sites. I didn't really realise quite how much of an impact rake had at the micros until Stu posted something about it in the rigged thread. Just seems like I'm burning by staying at stars
