Ended 2009 with a loss, but had a blast!
Went to the local card club and played both cash and tournament... The tournament was a $50 40,000 chip deepstack.... The tournament started around 5:30.... It had 38 players and I lasted until 10th place....
Five places paid with 1st being $800.00...Whole thing lasted a little over 10 hours!
However, the highlight was the cash game, this thing was loose (1/2NLHE)! I got involved in a hand that the dude sucked out on me.... I get dealt AA and raise to $8, get three callers. Flop comes Q/10/8 rainbow, a guy bets $25, I raise another $35 on top, guy to my left calls the better asks me "Should I make a bad call or a bad laydown" I say.... well if I were you I'd raise.... so he does all in for $96, I go all in over the top, the guy to my right says... well I'm on a flush draw I call.... Guy that went all in has Q9 and hits another Q on the river. He rakes in around $350, I get whats left in the side pot which was $135.
I got involved in another pot that was around a $240 pot and lost..... I did make some really great moves, lay downs, bluffs and was up a bit after a while I got sloppy.... But I got to play poker from 5:30pm - 4:00am!!
Another thing.... I REALLY hate Bodog's setup.... I'm trying to build an online
bankroll from
freerolls and was playing in the 9:40... There are 200 some people left and I'm in the top 30%. I go to hit the "Check" button before its my turn, guy to my right goes all in and I hit the button, which turned into "Call" at the time...... yeah, bad mistake.... took me down to almost nothing... Out in a few hands after that.
